Silence is the sleep that nourishes wisdom. (Francis Bacon)

When was the last time you turned off all music, noise, and digital pollution around you? Did you just sit down in quietness and peace and let your thoughts fly? Normally, we get a little bit tense, because when quietness arrive, we get messed up in all our thoughts, worries, and fears. They come attacking us, and we might feel insecure and stressed by this. As a result, it feels easier and better to just turn on the music, find your cell phone, and let the digital vibes hit you once again.

But, if you want to be honest to yourself and grow and learn, then you need to be able to turn off the noise and rather listen to the wisdom coming from silence. Maybe you don't need to sit, but you can get the same experience walking in the forest, looking at the nature, or lying down in the grass next to a river or a lake... just feeling the atmosphere of Gods nature and quietness!

If you never do this, I suggest you give it a try. It will freshen you up, and even though it might feel challenging and disturbing, and not at all as rewarding as you hope for, it is something you need to practice and develop the skill of relaxing and listening to your inner man and to God!
