Very few people do realise that there is an ongoing battle in our minds! By mentioning battle in our minds, many people will start to wonder why there should be battles in our minds! And what the battles are all about? Before I attempt to break it down, you need to know and understand that whoever controls your thoughts controls you! Of course, the battle is about who controls your thoughts!
The Inner Man
Whoever you are, whatever your beliefs are, Iam certain you are aware that you are not just made of flesh and blood. There is more to you than just: metabolism, blood circulation, respiration and other biological processes. Anatomy, physiology and even psychology are not all there are to you! Beyond flesh and blood, lies the inner man! By this, I mean the spirit and the Soul. These terms may not be new to you, but even if they are, I believe that by the time we are through, they will become clearer.
Man comprises of the spirit, the soul and the body. The physical aspect and the spiritual aspect. The physical aspect which is the physical body we see, is made up of our senses, namely: the sense of touch, sense of smell, sense of sight, sense of hearing and the sense of taste. This the part that is responsible for all metabolic processes of our bodies. But beyond all this lies the spirit of man which possesses a soul this part of man, is the actual man!
The Brain and The Mind
There is a misconception that the brain and the mind are the same! The brain is part of the physical body and controls the functions of the body. On the other hand, the mind which is part of our souls, controls our thoughts and emotions. In other words, the brain is the organ, but the mind is the organist! It is common knowledge even a person loses conciousness, the body continues to perform all its functions, this is proof that the mind, is beyond the realm of the physical body. Thoughts as we can deduce from this little explanation are not physical but spiritual!
Spiritual Battle
So, the battles in your mind, are spiritual battles! Battle between the Holy Kingdom of God and the evil kingdom of Satan. If there is anywhere the Devil has defeated us, it is in the realm of our minds. He does that by manipulating our thoughts thereby gaining control of us! We are constantly being torn between the Kingdom of God and the Kingdom of darkness in our minds! A war is raging and your is the battle ground!
The Choice Is Yours
As mentioned above, there is an ongoing battle in your mind, but you can choose who wins the battle for your mind, whether it is the Kingdom of God or Satan! If you choose God to control you by controlling your thoughts , you will have positive, right and fruitful thoughts. But if the Devil controls your thoughts , he will in you: negative, sensuous and depraved thoughts. And there is no middle ground, there is no sitting on the fence! You are on God's side or the Devil's.
