This post is a hypothetical day with a fully running 1UP system which has integrated its own Smart Media Token and opened its door to communities and platforms. You will follow me through my activities with the 1UP application in order to get an idea what a final version could feel like.
I am coming online to the 1UP homepage and quickly browse over the top posts from all the biggest communities on the Steem blockchain. By default it shows all the highest upvoted posts of the day but instead of the post value it takes the amount of received 1UPs. It is a colorful mix of the best content from all categories and platforms.
Shortly after I switch to the @tribesteemup community 1UP sub-page. Here I find the ongoing ranking list with the highest 1UP count on the top and a huge timer indicating the next upvote. Below are all the other posts with less 1UPs, waiting to receive more upvotes to rise in the ranking. As a member of this community I am entitled to give up to ten 1UPs per day, while all non-members can only passively browse through the community page. After a while I have upvoted ten posts and switch now to the tab for all the previously 1UP'ed posts of the past 24 hours.
After I am up-to-date with my community I switch now to the DTube community sub-page on 1UP. Here I find all the posts that have been posted on DTube. I can watch them directly on the ranking page without leaving 1UP. Since this is an open community everyone can give up to ten 1UPs to the eligible videos. Each given 1UP will reward me with points which rise my 1UP level. I am carefully selecting only the best videos because if they receive a 1UP whale vote I will got more points. After spending my last available 1UP of the day I am getting a notification that I have risen to level 5 and will now receive higher weekly rewards for my 1UP activities.
The last weekly upvote just came in earlier today, so I have to wait to profit from my new level until next week. I am checking my scoreboard and see that I got a nice little amount of Steem upvote this week as well as a substantial amount of 1UP SMT upvote. I also got a nice DTube-SMT upvote because they have opted-in to reward 1UP scouts like myself for participating in the upvote process within the DTube 1UP community.
Now I am checking my latest curation reward scores. I see that efficiency went up from 175% to 190% in the TribeSteemUp community. Probably they got this big new delegation recently. To support @dtubedaily authors I add the community to my trail list and set the amount to 10% of my daily available voting power. I am now following seven trails to support those projects directly. I have also earned new liquid 1UP payouts for delegating some of my Steem Power and my 1UP Power to the big 1UP whale account that rewards all the winners of the 1UP rankings. I will cash them out later to pay some bills instead of powering them up today.
After I have finished my daily 1UP check I am now producing my own article. I have planned to give it this extra effort and visual touch today to increase my own chances for collecting 1UPs to make it into the ranking lists and get a large double upvote from Steem and 1UP. This will catapult my post to the Steemit trending page and give me this massive visibility to promote my latest project. I have to make it good because the overall quality standards have improved everywhere since 1UP has started.
I hope you could follow what this experience might be like. 1UP is changing the game for all Steem users if we are able to make this a reality. I am working hard to put things into action. Thank you my friend .. this one is going to be pretty long and in depth .. I'm making some ancient esoteric and modern event connections that I don't think have been made before. Like I say .. I'm in the middle of moving, but I managed to take a break and grab a couple of nights wild camping in the wilderness .. I've returned with five posts (separate to the serpent series) written in my mind's eye. They're fairly complex so it'll take me a little while to put them on paper but I'm really looking forward to sharing them. :)
Thank you for providing this example. I've been trying to understand your SMT plan, and this helps a lot. One thing I'm still not clear on is the say upvotes get counted. Is it still weighted like on Steemit, or is it "one person one vote" with the total count of votes determining the 1up version of "trending" page?
