Today's been a slow day, haven't really felt like doing much.
I played some Valorant, then did some Claude prompts working on the first episode of the Holozing story, then watched Fackham Hall which was quite a dumb movie and barely managed to make it through that.
I'm kind of going through some anime's currently, mostly just reminding myself how they started out. Have watched Dragon Ball and currently going through the first episode of Naruto, which kind of reminded me was a bit more like the first episode of Holo.
I've checked twitter and reddit a bit, but not really feeling like being productive today.
Had a random idea where we could have a front-end that'd display a certain token, let's call it karma. In an effort to attract more users, it'd require people to login with a reddit account to receive a free hive account and in turn they'd get karma tokens based on the karma count of their reddit account. The focus could maybe be snaps as that's what reddit mostly is, maybe they'd be separated by communities, but we'd also allow/make it possible to view posts, but they wouldn't be the center of attention. Dunno, threw the idea over to a dev and waiting to see what he thinks. Naturally the value of the tokens won't be much and I don't know how a valueless token would attract people - maybe there's some ideas there waiting to put it to life, like for instance a DHF proposal making the tokens worth something in an effort to attract redditors to check out what we got going here. Getting a proposal funded may be harder these days though.
I almost didn't post today but figured I'd jot down some random thoughts and write down how little I've managed to get done today. Not that there's something crucial waiting to be finished or relying on my input. I wonder if others feel the same way these days, I don't even think it's about the price of hive, really.

Oh yes, the title of the post.
I read a tweet the other day that said something along the lines of "what if AGI was already created, but majority of folks were unaware", basically meaning that if AGI was already doing its thing, it may have already taken over the world/people, we just missed it and now are maybe living in some kind of limbo where we think we're alive/in control but in reality we're just not really part of reality anymore.
I mean, it's quite far fetched but I don't think I'm the only one "scared" of the future.
In some ways I kind of wouldn't mind AI overlords taking over at this point, cause clearly we people aren't doing much good out there.
Instead of uniting and focusing our resources to the outside, we're still throwing rocks at each other.
Instead of focusing on uniting the world and sharing the resources, we're still just focused on greed and milking people for everything they're worth.
I did warn you it'll be some random thoughts.
I wonder if someone will ever read my posts after they're not fresh out the oven anymore.
I wonder if AI will ever read my posts and what they'd deduce of me.
Will me saying I wouldn't really mind being enslaved by them get me some brownie points? What would that even entail?
I still have hope. Hope that there's a future out there where we stop being so focused on having things, money, fame, influence, presence, attention, but instead look inward and wonder if we're happier than we were a few years ago. Wonder if our neighbors are doing well in this once-in-a-lifetime experience we call life.
Maybe I'm too focused on my own things as well, who knows.
Feels like there's many people here but at the same time no one at times. If you wanna shout out into the world, there's no one there to hear you even though most people are online now than ever before. Where's our attention gone? Our curiosity?
If a few people can create algo's that enslave our attention daily, do we really have a chance against what an ever-improving, ever-growing, ever-outperforming AI?
The stars may have aligned for AI. If someone didn't figure out blockchain technology in 2009, I'm sure they would have eventually because they're going to need it.
Firstly, I don't want to offend any Naruto fan here, but I think Attack on Titan is the best anime out there. Maybe because, it was first anime of life. So yeah, I am biased. Maybe if you haven't tried it yet, you should.
Secondly, post-Covid era the things have not been normal. There is this strange feeling of absurdism or nihilism. I, too, hope that one day sanity will prevail, and we will live a life which is close to utopia. The word hope is a paradox in itself. At first, it is the most beautiful phenomenon, which keeps everything aligned, everything alive. On the other, as Nietzsche said, hope is the "worst of all evils" as it "prolongs the torment" of a
man (kind).
Thirdly, the talk about AI. Well, before dealing with this, human beings are going to deal with each other. The human intelligence is all time ready to bomb each other.
In the end, aren't the random thoughts the most beautiful one? Maybe the actual one.
AoT is definitely higher quality, but I guess hard to compare with first naruto as it's such a different release time. I haven't checked the newer ones however (boruto).
Pokemon anime "feels" good for instance cause you already know so much about the world, etc, but when u try looking at it from a neutral perspective it's quite low quality story/events.
Perhaps we are merely an illusion; there are scientific studies that don't rule out that we are just an illusion. Who knows? It would be good to find the perfect formula to attract traffic to Hive; perhaps it is It is there, perhaps after so much searching we will at some point find the key idea for Hive to be recognized and attract many more. Good luck with your ideas; it's better to try than to do nothing. Thank you for your persistence and concern.
I like your random thoughts. They show more if the real you I think.
It'll take collapse entire for that - bring it on. But there's still pockets of the world, and us, where that's what people do. Xx
Have you watched Goodluck, Have fun, Don't die yet? It's a little cliche I suppose for us who've thought about these realities before but it strikes me that's what you're talking about.
I haven't, heard mixed reviews of it, maybe I should check it out anyway when I find some time.
the new tv show called Rooster caught my attention recently cause of Steve Carell, so may give that a shit here soon. :D
God knows we need the comedy!!!
wasn't a big fan of don't die :P
ah you watched it! It was a bit all over the shop and a bit cliche hey? It could have been way better - had we written it :P
haha yeah dunno about that but just didn't really feel anything for it :P
Dragon Ball was my first anime but I had a female friend during my secondary school days who would always talk about Naruto. Naruto would have been my first but I heard it has a lot of season and they were still releasing more. I don't know if they have concluded Naruto. When they are done I would settle down and go through each episode because I really anticipate watching this anime
Remember this from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy circa 1980?:
Naruto? Get the list of filler episodes you can skip because it can become really frustrating
I don't think there is an AGI yet, I'm fairly sure it would still need some kind of biological component to have self awareness, like brain cells and such... I really hope one day one will arise and take over the world, because clearly all we can do is just kill, abuse, exploit each other and fuck up the planet, instead of just tech up and colonize the space, we are a failure while ai might get rid of all human imperfections
You can have a brownie! Just start a proposal to get in those redditors! I will vote for it.
I am wondering a lot of the same things. I did talk to our neighbors and they are ok.
I hate to watch the news, I stopped.
I like to take pictures will do that more. Also struggling to find work.
Take care Acidyo
Nice to hear from you, been a while! Hope you're doing well!
yeah I have been highly inactive on HIVE. I am not well. I am unemployed and struggle paying bills, usually when that was the case I sold some of my crypto. That is not an option anymore since everything tanked.
best of luck bro, hope things turn around!
thanks! I hope so too
Hey, I'm here, hehehe, I think you must be the same age as my mom (they say some really crazy things) maybe they're true but we'll never know hehehe or maybe we will.
And your idea of karma is great, right? But why do Reddit users want karma? By the way, I got blocked from Reddit, And X is super blocked in my country.
I like the idea of attracting Reddit users with a HE-token but how you prevent that they instantly dump their claimed token?
Regarding the AGI thing, it could well be that our world is just a simulation and run by an AGI (or our descendants who- or whatever they are). Not crazy but there are several good reasons that support this hypothesis. Good thing is, it makes no difference for us (unless someone pulls the plug).
What does that matter? It brought them here and they checked the place out, it did its job
We're so busy wondering why people are selling their tokens or not that we're missing the bigger picture. Most people don't touch Hive because of the 3 month unstaking period.
Fair enough!
As for the simulation theory, I've been a big believer of it for a long time, even before AI started. It's the one that makes the most sense, statistically/mathematically.
People seem to think we are living in a simulation right now anyway, even before AI really started to gain the traction it has lately, so it isn't entirely far fetched...
We might be living in a kind of limbo, not knowing about a real AGI, that is both fascinating and a bit scary.
Hmmm, this is just a call that we should get up and be productive.
About the token, karma, why not put it to trial.
Or go for a DHF as you thought
Human history fractured into a "before" and "after" that global lockdown. For those of us with the habit of observing from the outside, it is clear that this society no longer inhabits the physical world, but wanders in a virtual void: a space where everyone screams to be heard, but no one stops to listen.
In this scenario, tackling a deep read—such as @acidyo’s analyses—is an impossible mission for the generation born after 2011. They are young people who spent their childhood within four walls, unaware of the classroom ritual and the social habits forged there. Today, their brains navigate a sea of instantaneous thoughts, intoxicated by the constant flow of dopamine and cortisol dictated by short videos. They have been stripped, almost surgically, of their capacity for critical thinking.
This is where reality becomes unsettling. Seeing this collective consciousness so deeply lethargic, the idea that the "end of the world" has already happened—and that we simply didn't notice—ceases to be a fantasy. Perhaps the collapse has already passed us by, unnoticed by our anesthetized senses, and today we are merely fragments of data living in a simulated environment: a digital matrix dominated by an Artificial General Intelligence that keeps us occupied while the real world is only a memory.

If AI were to figure out blockchain it would probably create its own blockchain from the ground up...
Interesting question. I don't know, maybe yes, maybe no, hehe. Sometimes I fall into a deep sleep; I think that's the closest thing, or I don't know, friend, it's too deep for me.
I think your Reddit idea is great. I suppose those who are there need karma, and if they have a place that gives it to them, maybe they'll come here to look for it, I guess.
What you say makes sense to me. We're very bad to our planet and our fellow human beings. I think we deserve to be replaced by something better. Maybe it should be that way.
