In a small village surrounded by greenery and tall trees lived a young man named Aamir. Aamir was twenty five, strong, healthy and full of dreams. He often told his friends,One day I’ll be the richest farmer in this village. My fields will shine like gold and people will come to me for advice. The villagers knew about his dreams, but there was one problem Aamir was very lazy.
When the sun rose and other farmers went to their fields, Aamir would still be lying in bed. While people worked hard under the sun he would sit in the shade just dreaming. For every task he would say, I’ll do it later. He had plenty of plans, but no action at all.
One evening, Aamir’s uncle a wise and experienced farmer came to see him. He looked at Aamir’s empty field and said,Son, you talk about golden crops but all I see here is barren land. Aamir laughed and said, Don’t worry, Uncle, I’ll start tomorrow. His uncle sighed because he had heard that tomorrow many times.
He took two seeds out of his pocket and gave them to Aamir. He said, These are no ordinary seeds. The first seed is of ambition. If you water it daily and work hard, it will grow into a tree and bring you success. The second seed is of laziness. It will grow on its own very fast and destroy your entire field. Now the choice is yours which seed will you grow?
Aamir thought,Obviously I’ll plant the seed of success. But the next morning he again said, Not today tomorrow. Days passed. Eventually he planted both seeds and then forgot about them.
A few weeks later, when he went to his field he was shocked. The seed of laziness had grown rapidly. Weeds had spread everywhere and the seed of ambition was weak almost dying.
His uncle returned and said, Aamir this is your life. Ambition is a tiny seed. It needs daily effort and attention otherwise it dies. But laziness grows on its own and ruins everything.
Hearing this, Aamir’s eyes filled with tears. For the first time he understood the reality. Dreams alone are not enough action is necessary.
The next morning, Aamir got up before sunrise. He pulled out the weeds with his own hands. His hands got injured his body grew tired but he didn’t stop. He watered the seed every day. Slowly, that seed grew into a strong tree that gave him success, respect and wealth. And Aamir he was no longer lazy. He became the most successful farmer in the village.
This story isn’t just about a field it’s the story of your life. Inside every person are two seeds one of ambition one of laziness. Ambition only grows when you work hard every day. Laziness grows on its own and kills your dreams.
