Sublime Sunday: The New Normal.

in Faces of Hive5 years ago

It's Sunday

It's a start of a brand new week. Quarantine restrictions have relaxed a bit, but ironically, our city has been out on lockdown for a week (until June 9th).

Nobody can come in and out of the city.

Not that I need to, haha.

New Normal

This is the new normal most of us have to be doing - - wearing masks when outdoors. It was okay, until the summer heat and humidity got more intense.

10 minutes before 5:00pm, the temperature was still at 39°C, real feel was 43°C. That's not yet the killer. We get up to 50°C here. The killer, when wearing mask, is the humidity! It was only 41% and I could almost not breathe anymore. How else would it feel at the peak of summer come July/August?

Comply or Get Fined?

Oh well, we have to be responsible for our actions. We also have to do our part to contain this virus which does not seem to want to go away.

Not wearing a mask when outdoors, or even improperly wearing one, can get one slapped with a AED 3,000 ($815) fine. I think that will get me run out of breath more than the humid environment. Lol

Sublime Sunday

That said, I hope you all are having a fantastic Sunday.

Keep safe, and stay healthy. ❤️

That's so suffocating. 😔

Yes it is, @mami.she7. We can't do anything but comply though.

It's for our own safety though. Comfy or not we should abide. But yeah, sometimes it's hard to breathe and I really hated it.

Yup, masks are definitely not for comfort nor fashion, but for everyone's protection. Thing is, this may be a norm for long-term.
Funny, we get sandy days when there's sandstorm, but people here never wore masks. Only the unseen made us do it. 😅

yaan muna po, we need it. It's fine, maganda naman ang buhok eh, curly tapos parang shiny.. parang lang.. hehehe

Hindi shiny. Basa kasi. Haha

Think 4 yourself... To me the mask does nothing.. It should be optional..

Much as I'd like to, government regulations are strict here. $815 fine for not wearing a mask is too much for me to pay. Lol. Personally, I think mask is better than none. I'm more concerned about those wearing gloves the whole day thinking they're protected, but in reality they aren't because they tend to touch the surfaces with less caution and end up spreading whatever infection they touched everywhere.

I can see if this was the black plague where half died who contacted it ..but less than 1% will succumb to this... It's like a bad Flu...

Wow! The fine there is so expensive. Here in Baguio we are also mandated to wear face masks. If we get caught we'll get fined 1000 Php.

It must feel so crappy to wear a mask there especially when you start perspiring from the heat. But I guess we just have to sacrifice right now. It's better to be safe than to be sorry.

Have a great day and stay safe always :)

Yup, better be safe than sorry (health wise and finance wise) 😅
