Shoutout to @macchiata for her section Morning Musings for inspiring this idea of talking about my thoughts while drinking coffee. Mac, you are awesome!

Hello there, coffee-and-other-beverages lovers!

The hot afternoons in my hometown are a cozy place for a cup of black coffee and dessert. It seems illogical that lots of people living in such a warm and humid place would like a beverage instead of something to cool off. Yes, but coffee is something we drink from very early in our lives.

People who usually don't drink it or dislike it entirely, maybe never get used to the taste and smell from their childhoods. This week, I wanted to take some time off from all the things I do, so I decided to buy something at the nearby bakery and sit down on my workshop table to turn off my brain for a moment and have some sips of black coffee and eat my sweet.

I have shown this dessert before. It is called bomba (yes, like a bomb). It is similar to a jelly doughnut. It's made in the same way. However, the filling is usually a different kind. Instead of jelly or jam, it has a custard. And in the particular case of the one you can see in the photos it has dulce de leche (or as we called here, arequipe). This last item is what you obtain when you cook sweetened condensed milk. Pairing such a thing with a piece of fried dough with a topping of sugar is a bomb of flavor!

Having these two items requires time. There's no need to rush hot coffee. Bombas are messy. You always look like a toddler when you eat one. Sugar goes everywhere, your fingers get greasy and you face might end up smeared with the custard. But it makes some sense to have such a thing in the middle of a busy week.

It seems everything is always going in a rush. Like we have some other place to be all the time. And things like this prevent us from enjoying and paying attention to the things at hand. We might not appreciate the stuff we do if we're always thinking on what comes next. I think drinking coffee is a good way of get out of your busy mind and have a moment to stop everything. For starters, drinking it without noticing the flavor should be a crime. Also, if you don't pay attention to anything you drink, chances are you're choking on it. Not a funny thing to do with any kind of liquid.

Also, having a moment of peace boosts your productivity and enhances your chances of finding solutions to any problems you're facing be them at work or else. I wonder if people have the same kind of epiphanies while drinking tea or something else they like. I know the former also has some caffeine. But do people find solutions to stuff while drinking smoothies or similar things? I know alcohol is out of this question.

After eating my dessert and having my coffee, all other things are easier. It might just only be the combined efforts of caffeine and sugar rush. Does it actually matter?

Coffee is another word for happiness. One that is best enjoyed in peace and with something sweet on the side.

We call them bomboloni 😄 extra sweet and extra yummy. I seem to be making people do their morning musings with coffee haha. There might be a beauty there and you know, clears up our mind haha

Ha, ha, ha. You're a source of inspiration 😁

Is it bomboloni related to a bomb in any sense?

Maybe? I think we just call it because others said so and the trend caught up on to us haha😂

Ha, ha, ha, ha. I see. Well, it sure sounds like a funny thing to say!

It is called bomba (yes, like a bomb). It is similar to a jelly doughnut.

Custard doughnuts are my favourite with coffee, but that filling is new to me.

I think drinking coffee is a good way to get out of your busy mind and have a moment to stop everything.

You're right!
It's great to read your thoughts on the beautiful beverage.

... and YES! I think it's remarkable how liked coffee is regardless of the climate:)))

Some people say that when you drink coffee, you stop feeling the hot weather. And I agree. It is a great way to regulate your own temperature.

Yeah, heat chases out the heat 😆😁

Add "thermoregulation" to coffee's wonderful properties ✅✅✅

I like that✅ 🙌

A hot black coffee paired with sweets is always the best pair for me, too. The dessert is quite familiar and it's name, never tried it yet, I think I just saw it somewhere. For me, I prefer to pair it with cheesecakes or chocolate cakes. It hypes the energy out of me and makes my day.

I've never had cheesecake. But having cake is also a good way to stop and enjoy life.

It looks like an authentic Argentinian invoice! For me please of custard cream jajaja😃

Yeah, you can't translate facturas into invoice. An invoice is a bill. Anyway, having sweets is a great way of spending some time at ease.

Well it's called that in Argentina jajajajajaja whatever... I want cream!!!

Exquisite! I don't eat a lot of sweets because it disgusts me, but I share with people who are dying for a doughnut like this one, well filled and accompanied with coffee. Thanks for the gift.

To each their own.
