Era 1: Age of Abundance & Ruin
Episode 2: Calamities
The world, it seemed, had been tallying its wounds. Every splinter signed in a ledger. And when it came to collect, it came for everything.
A thick cloud of poison rolled across the land, choking the air from coast to coast.
The sun swelled. Bloated beyond reason. Too hot. Too close.
The floods came next. Then the storms. Then earthquakes that shook and shattered the land. Great mountains, standing since the dawn of time, came down like stacked stone.
Observing this unfold, from high atop his mountain, was the mighty red wyrm, Rage. He had been there long before the first empire drew a border, and would be there long after it fell. He did not stir, but simply watched, and found the whole affair rather beneath him...
When the boundaries between worlds finally gave way — quietly, without warning — it wasn't a negotiation. The world wasn't ending. It was buckling.
The empires had wanted more... Well, friends, they were going to get more indeed...
Did you give up on the previous project? It looked really cool; I hope you're not going to drop it.
Haven't given up on it but there are only so many hours in the day.
I will say however that I do have one major concern on SplinterTactics, which is that it's too complex and difficult to pick up, and I'm worried that would significantly deter any kind of adoption. I may need to pivot to something with simpler game mechanics.
I completely understand, and this is often where the limitations of Vibecoding come into play. Launching an MVP is actually relatively simple with today’s tools. But as soon as you dig a little deeper, the complexities start to emerge. In any case, don’t hesitate to reach out—I’m a developer and I already have an active project on Hive. If you need a hand, you know where to find me.
Thanks Phanty! I may do that :)
Btw I was mostly referring to the game mechanics themselves being complex, not necessarily the coding, although it certainly ballooned in complexity as I kept going as well.
In any case I really appreciate your offer, and perhaps at some point we'll find something to work on together!
You'r welcome !
Rage’s got a pretty bad attitude for a guy who’s just watching the world end.
