There are times people will approach you for advice, wanting to know how to go forward about a particular thing. However, when you hear about their situation, it seems like a slam-dunk scenario. And for the life of you, you just can’t figure out how they really can’t know the right course of action to take when it’s just so glaring and obvious.
And this is not about someone not knowing what’s right for them, this is someone that based on all the variables considered, they are meant to know better and as such act better for their wellbeing. But for some reason, they just choose not to and instead require the advice of someone else.
Stories like that are rampant all over social media, people will come online to ask for help in things that don’t make sense.
For example, a lady could live with an abusive boyfriend. This guy could be abusing her both physically and emotionally, however, whenever she tries to leave him he’ll beg and promise her that he’ll change. But all to no avail. Then, she’ll come online for advice, asking if she’s doing the right thing by leaving.
Or a guy who is with someone who doesn’t appreciate him, no matter what he does. All they do is spend his money and call him only when they need him, yet he would still come to ask for advice to know if it’ll be a bad decision to just leave it all behind. So many stories are all over the place, when you hear them you’ll wonder how is this even a thing.
I’m not trying to put down anyone here. Some people have genuine problems and many of them share them online to find solutions. Yeah, I know that desperation can lead you to do things you’ll never really consider. I’m not downplaying such people. However, I’m talking about the ones who have solutions right in front of their eyes yet they choose to ignore it. As if they need people’s permission before they act on what they know they’re supposed to do.
This is why there are some stories I’ll never advise on. Such people will never really listen to what you have to say, they believe they know the solution already and they only need you to agree that it will be a great idea so they can move on. So, when you disagree with whatever scenario they created in their heads, you become the bad guy. So, forget the fact that they approached you for advice, they’ll still do what’s on their mind.
Everyone is going through a lot, and after a while, it can become overwhelming. So, if they have spoken to those around them and they got no succor, they can easily come online and voice what they’re going through. In this day and age, you never really know where sound advice could come from.
Anyway, whenever you see stories like this, you can advise if you want. I’m not discouraging it. Keep on helping out wherever you can and eventually, you just might help someone make a life-altering decision.

It's really overwhelming sometimes like you rightly said @bruno-kema . I call it lack of common sense. This era is an era of the jenzy' s, therefore everyone should know the right moves to take concerning certain issues. The jenzy era is totally a fast pace era. Indeed... No one can know what you're going through better than you and you should know the appropriate steps to take. But then, when it overwhelms you, there should be people in your life who you can ask for advice. Not having to come online.
Seeking advice online, I am too shy to do that and for those doing it, I really don't blame all of them because there are people who are truly confused about what next to do in life while there are the unserious ones.
The example you made earlier, I don't see any reason why a lady should be asking if she should leave an abusive relationship and if I saw the post, I would have told her to stay there and let the guy beat her to death.
We all know what's right and wrong but some people just want false attention and sympathy.
Guy... there are stories you'll hear and you'll wonder if it's made up. Some people will know clearly that they're with someone who doesn't give a damn about them, and they'll still not leave. Asking if it's the right thing to do.
When you think about it, it's just annoying. That's all.
I think asking for advice after taking action means time pass, nothing more than it. If anyone really needs advice s/he will ask for advice before taking action. I don't give advice when they ask me after making a decision.

I would like to say here that people who are older than us have lived more lives than us, so we should follow their words, if we do in this way, we will also live in the next life. We have seen things like this happen in our own lives.
