TAKENGON, KOMPAS.com - Dozens of residents in Kampung Paya Tumpi Baru, Kebharga District, Central Aceh District, Aceh, were temporarily displaced due to the flash floods that occurred in the village on Wednesday (5/13/2020) afternoon.
Residents were displaced due to damage to their homes and were entered by mud material.
Even based on the observation of Kompas.com at the scene, there were houses washed away by water mixed with mud, rock material and tree trunks.
One of those who took refuge was Reje Kampung or the head of Paya Tumpi Baru Village, Idrus Syahputra or Ados.
Idrus claimed to have to leave the house temporarily because flash flood material entered his house as high as about 40 centimeters.
"Tonight, our family is displaced in the house of Reje Kampung Paya Tumpi Main, because the house is currently unable to be occupied temporarily," Ados said when met at the disaster site, Wednesday (05/13/2020) afternoon.
It was explained, based on residents' reports, there were houses that were washed away around the flood site. One of the houses even drifted along with a car parked across the street in front of his house.
"I heard that up there a house was washed away by flash floods, at the bottom there we don't know yet," said Ados.
One of his cars parked next to the house was also dragged by mud due to the flash flood disaster.
Based on the observation of Kompas.com, it appears at the disaster site, a unit of heavy equipment was working at one location in Kampung Paya Tumpi Batu and took part in evacuating the Avanza car owned by Ados.
In addition, the heavy equipment also cleans the culverts located beside the Ados house.
Around 21:00 WIB, Kompas.com confirmed a number of parties, including the Central Aceh BPBD Emergency Section, Iqbal, but had not yet been able to obtain information regarding losses due to this disaster.
"We are being assigned to help clean up flood material on the Takengon-Bireuen Road section, our team is working on data collection," said Iqbal.
