Happy Sunday, fam.

The situation of the country is getting tougher by the day. Goods and food items are becoming more expensive, yet we still have to protect ourselves from bandits and other bad people looking for every opportunity to take advantage of us.
Crypto is down, content creators are having a rough time on platforms like Facebook and YouTube, and the days when low-effort content could easily earn rewards seem to be gone. Facebook pays little compared to before, and many creators are struggling. In one way or another, almost everyone is facing challenges.
If you are someone who used to help people financially but have reduced or stopped, others should understand that the economic situation has made things difficult. Sometimes, there is simply nothing left to give because even the giver is now trying to survive.
Three days ago, I received a WhatsApp message from someone I barely knew. I met her at a network subscription shop where she usually helped me renew my Spectranet subscription. To save myself the stress of visiting the shop, I collected her number so she could assist me online whenever needed.

Little did I know that I had unknowingly opened the door for constant billing requests. From time to time, she would ask for financial assistance, and I helped when I could. Recently, with crypto performing badly, she sent me a video showing herself on a hospital bed with a drip attached. She claimed she was sick and asked me to help her with whatever I could afford.
What surprised me most was that she immediately dropped her account number without me asking for it. I have always wondered why some people do that.
I ignored the messages, but she kept sending more.
Today, while heading out, I happened to pass by a house and saw someone plaiting her hair outside. It turned out to be her. I didn't even know where she lived. I greeted her, and she said she had been looking at me, trying to remember where she knew me from. We never discussed the messages.
I couldn't help but think that she must have been wondering whether I saw her messages and chose to ignore them. If I did, then her story about being seriously sick had already fallen apart.
She lied about being sick just to get money from me, but with crypto down and things already tight, I wasn't even in a position to help anyone.
What surprised me most was seeing her healthy and going about her normal activities shortly after sending me videos from a hospital bed. It made me realize that some people are willing to use anything, even their health, as a tool to get money from people they barely know.
This isn't to say we shouldn't help others. There are genuinely sick people and people going through difficult times who deserve support. However, we also need to be wise and careful because not everyone who asks for help is being honest.
In times like these, where almost everyone is struggling, it is important to have compassion, but it is equally important not to allow ourselves to be manipulated by people looking for an easy opportunity.
Help when you can, but use wisdom too.

That's the reason I rarely believe anyone's word. People can tell lots of lie fust for getting money. So, I try to make financial transactions with little people only.
