Splitting Responsibilities

Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to appreciate being able to split an evening.

Splitting Responsibilities

On any given night of my Hive activities, when I have the energy to do them, I am lately able to have a pretty good balance of splitting things between. I try to write a post or two a night if I can manage it but that's not always possible. The past week or so though, what I've been able to manage and it's felt pretty good is splitting my time between finishing writing a post, and then getting to dropping some comments and curating the various people and communities that I enjoy spending time in, many of it in the Rant community which I started two years ago.

In this situation, I've gotten some good satisfaction to be able to generate some posts so that I can get my nightly mental catharsis achieved but also be able to read and engage with other people here on the Hive blockchain with the most important part of the chain: community and discussion!

It's a little difficult to quantify the ability to write and engage in one evening, in the recent past I was only doing one or the other. I'm hoping that I can keep up something like this for a while but I know that sometimes that won't always be possible which is fine! I know that I get into the communities and posts more frequently than I do the writing which is good, because comments and on-chain activity here are what brings and inspires people to keep going and do more of the things that we all enjoy.

Having started and manage a community that actually gets people posting in it though has really adjusted my focus and changed my outlook on certain things that I do here on Hive. I remember the days of posting, and still get it here and there, where my post doesn't receive any comments at all. I think that's sad! It's impossible to visit all of the posts on my following feed in a given day though, because we don't have the time or mental capacity in a day to do something like that lol but at least me being able to control the fact that I can always visit a post in the Rant community before it reaches the 7 day pay out period has been a good and attainable goal that I've managed to keep up with.

A lot of the posts that I've found in there thankfully have gotten at least one comment or more which is great! I have found a fair share of them though that haven't received a comment and it's getting to about 5 or 6 days and I feel glad that I'm able to get on there, read it and leave a decent comment for them. A lot of the times I get some warm regards back which is good, because it proves that comments on peoples posts are really beneficial and important, which I think leads people to then generate more content.

Granted, generating that content ends up in a vacuum if the person that is writing it doesn't do what they should be doing and visiting at least a few posts out there and leave some comments but I think that eventually they will either get to commenting like they should be, or get frustrated/bored and end up not posting much or leaving Hive. I don't mind either scenario because we all have to contribute in one way or another around here.

The inspiration for tonight's post though was because with me getting to visiting my feed and people's posts and dropping some comments, I was able to find not only one new user but I found two! I'm hoping that the new people I am trying to engage with and have some back and forth will lead to some great conversations and friendships. It all starts with taking a step out of our own account and going to see others, and these things can flourish and develop into things that we may not expect!

Being able to do both cathartic writing and positive additions to my reading and digestion of folks content felt like a good recharge for me this week, after getting a bit drained on the work front!

I always read the comments on other people's posts. It's a great way to find interesting writers to follow.

Yeah! I don’t always do it depending on how much time I have but when I can I will and enjoy it. I’ve found quite a few good ones that way!

It can definitely be difficult to stay "caught up" on Hive! I had a good two months of posting daily, then ... well, that stopped. Priorities. I try... try... to vote/comment on 10-12 other posts daily when I can. 12/day is the goal. Why 12? I pulled a number out of my.. well... it was random. 😁 I feel for you how difficult it is.

I love getting comments, too. That's the best part of posting is knowing that someone has actually read it.

Thanks for making me part of those comments per day when you can man, I appreciate it! I for sure try to get out there when I can and visit my friends posts to see what they are up to. It’s a good problem to have I think!

Comments are indeed the best part of the experience though, because it connects us as humans when we can digest a post and offer some thoughts.

Working on hive is also not as easy as people think because one has to go and find a lot of beautiful pleas and then collect mili about it then go and post here and about it. I have to tell everything. All these pictures looks so beautiful and amazing but first picture i like the most. Natural sights are very good and soothing to the human heart.

Natural sights are definitely my favorite kinds of all!

It is a fair bit of effort but I enjoy it all! It is fun to be able to share the sights and sounds of things around me with folks and get to see how others view something we saw. In the end it helps connect us all as users of not only hive but of the world!
