Sitting here on a rainy Saturday waiting for spring to show up.
My buddy T was supposed to come over for coffee this morning. But my Mrs. wasn't feeling well so we cancelled. Pushed it out a couple days. No big deal. We'll catch up soon.
Gives me time to sit here and think about all the stuff I need to do once the weather cooperates.
Got to get my grill ready. Plan to use the hell out of it this year. Nothing beats cooking outside when the weather is right. Burgers. Steaks. Whatever. Just standing out there with a cold drink watching meat sizzle. That's living.
Need to get my fishing gear ready too. Got a new rig. Nice bait caster and rod. Still sitting in the box it came in at Christmas. Haven't even opened it yet. That needs to change. Want to get out on the water. Throw some lines. Maybe drag my youngest son out there with me if he has time between school and work.
Wanna get to the range as well. Haven't shot in a long time. Son bought a new .22 and is getting used to it. He has already been to the range once. It was too cold for me. That is changing I think.
Speaking of ranges. It is in a state park. That park has some easy hiking trails. So with a buddy and some hiking sticks. May look to do some hiking this spring as well.
Lawn mower needs attention. It's been sitting all winter and will need to be made ready for the upcoming mowing season. I actually don't mind mowing. Gets me outside. Moving. Doing something useful. Seeing the yard look clean when you're done.
Would like to get some pots and get them ready for planting. Got those cherry tomato seeds waiting. Eventually they'll need a home outside. Container gardening didn't work out so great last time but I'm going to give it another shot.
All in good time I guess. When mother nature decides to cooperate.
Got a bunch of doc appointments coming up too. That's just life at this point. Always something to check on. Something to monitor. The joys of getting older.
Anyway. I'm ready for spring and everything that comes with it. The green coming back. Flowers popping up. Bees buzzing around doing their thing. The smells. That fresh earthy smell after a spring rain. Little newborn critters showing up in the yard.
Winter had its time. Ready to move on.
Until then I'll be here. Watching the rain. Waiting.
Anyone else ready for spring? What are you looking forward to?

Thanks for reading,
Joe

We have had a gorgeous sunny weekend, although at nights to hit freezing! Seems like you have a very busy time ahead! Let me know when you fire the grill up, I'll be right over 🤣

No doubt there will be posts about my grilling antics. :)
hehe looking forward to seeing them
We don't have the typical seasons in Sub tropical Brisbane. When I am home, I am usually glad to see the end of the hot humid summers. Just now we have been down south on a bit of a road trip but it should be pretty pleasant when we get home.
I can imagine how crappy the humidity is. Been in the sub tropics before for training. We also lived on Okinawa for 3 years. The humidity was terrible there in the summer. Made the winters very nice there though.
We have already Spring here in Vienna. I am loving the sun so much!
Looking forward to follow nature turning on it´s full turbo mode.
I think the weather may be turning that way. The temps have warmed and it is raining more. Usually a good sign of Spring. But just a few years ago it snowed in May here. So who knows.
Spring has already arrived here!!! I went hiking this week in a new forest park and visited art galleries. I hope spring arrives there soon so you can do everything you have planned!!!
You have really been getting out for sure. Been enjoying your posts. Hopefully I'll have some to share soon.
So be it!!!🤗
I thought we were supposed to have a really nice weekend too, but it ended up raining most of the day. We tried to go on a walk and we got soaking wet. I'm still planning on grilling tomorrow no matter what happens.
Too bad you got the crap weather up there too. Supposed to be clear but cloudy tomorrow. So doubt wwe will dry out.
Sun is bright and beautiful today, but the temperature dropped about ten degrees and there is a stiff wind that has the temps down another ten from there.
It is Sunday here now and it's grey and overcast. Temps are decent. Enjoy the BBQ.
I don't go anymore unless something falls off or breaks. Whatever happens, happens :)
As for spring...yes!!! Every spring is a gift. I'm ready for it.
That is a mantra I need to take up.
