I'm still binge watching a lot of history videos on Youtube, and I'm still really enjoying it.
Being involved with cryptocurrency in 2021 and learning about how much suffering and chaos there was before my time, it just makes me realize how grateful and lucky I am to be able to make some money in the privacy of my home.
The internet in general is really a major tool when you think about the world and history.
On a bit of a side note, learning about history gives me a healthier understanding and sort of attitude about me enjoying conspiracy theories. I absolutely know there are conspiracies. Like what are the mathematical odds there aren't? I mean besides the ones we know about?
People lie every day. Imagine the amount of lies one can make during a war time. Crazy. How many places and documents destroyed.
The problem with powerful people that are liars in 2021, is that lying is now a huge majority of their tools to deceive. I suppose they can use technology to their advantage as much as the common man like myself...
Nevertheless using modern day technology can really go so far (I think LOL) in a liars efforts. Physical evidence can be seen and spread like wildfire instantaneously. Before it was powerful peoples words, or even just like newspapers, I don't know.
American Declaration of Independence in 1776, to the first photo being taken in 1826, that's just a 50 year span. That's like fucking amazing. This fact should be obvious and perhaps subconsciously I was mildly aware but still wow.
That's just from 1971, to NOW.
Something about that bothers me, not in a real bad way. What bothers me is that this concept of time was not really explained that well. Teachers did a really shitty job of explaining how close indeed we are to a lot of these historical events. It always felt like Abe Lincoln was like millions of lifetimes away when he really wasn't.
Maybe I was and still am just dumb who knows.
People love to always point out how bad that lifespans were back in the day but from what I understand IF you can get past your twenties, you had a nice shot at living for a very respectable old age. How many families have got strong genes and can basically tell stories first hand about history to like, even modern time family members?
I want to look at photos from 1826 and on.
I wish I could explain in words how amazing that fact is to me. I probably sound dumb going off about time yada yada yada. But man its fascinating to me.
What is 1,000 years, really? How are we still impacted by those people? So many questions man. History is made every day.
1826 there are photos. 43 years before that THE DANG REVOLUTIONARY WAR ENDED.
How many people on Hive are 43 years old or older?
It just makes certain historical events seem eerily closer than ever before man. Legit gives me goosebumps.
We look at photos every day.
Hopefully with time I can articulate more of my thoughts and feelings but wow man. I am getting mind blown a lot lately.
Not sure this little rant is even understandable, but yeah that's just what it is, a rant.
