What is the smartest thing you can buy (as an investment) which is not crypto?

Right now, Gold. We're looking at a global recession.

We are in an "everything-bubble", bonds are expensive, stocks are on new highs, real estate seems to be overvalued in many places. My guess are commodities, or, some of them. (Platin, maybe silver, uranium mines, maybe some softs.) Those are near multi-year lows. But beware of the high contango by some products.

Maybe some special areas, like: Russian stocks; other exotic, developing nations; real estate in some not very known and not crowded places.

I'm also very interested in stock shorting ideas. I have only too little time to investigate all this.

The rest is worthless. Ever tried to sell your gold? Investing in a company? I don't think so.

Silver would be better at current price levels, but lacking that option, Gold is a decent option.

I’d contend there is no one answer, as it entirely depends upon an individual’s particular preferences, values, and strategies...
