A Sunday without rest. This week I more than doubled my running activity. I started the #21days challenge on Monday which allowed me to reach this number which I haven't done since I was training for CAF. Running every day without failure is intense, even if it's just a few miles.
Today I got my neighbors; a couple in their 70's who go for a walk. On the way back down, they asked me if I had run to the top. When I said yes, they said "wow you are in shape". Me on the inside thinking I'm rather not in my best shape. Not that I'm out of shape either, but I did gain weight and am running at a slower speed.
This route is one of my shorter routes. I haven't done the uphill 10K in a while. On that one I'm sure I can tell I'm not as optimal. If I told you about that one you would fall backwards. Although that was my short route for CAF training. The long one was 24K, also with a lot of elevation gain, although I do most of it downhill.
The downhills are relaxing for the lungs and heart rate, but hard on the legs and you don't realize it until some time has passed.
We are already on day 6 of the challenge. Still a lot to go because we're not even halfway through. 😁
