Coffee Camp 612 is one of those modern and fusion boutique restaurant. The location of this restaurant is a little out of the way.
Coffee Camp 612 算是一家走現代融合路線的精品網紅餐廳。不過說實話,這家店的位置稍微有那麼一點點偏僻。

If we are going to give it a simple introduction, it is going to be "that" cafe that was located by the river. Fortunately, the river walk itself is one of the hottest tourist spot in Ipoh.
如果用一句最簡單的話來介紹它,那就是「那家開在河邊的咖啡館」。幸好,這條近打河畔步道(Kinta River Walk)本身就是怡保最熱門的旅遊景點之一。

The crown jewel of this main attraction is the night market. With the blessing of Malaysia kind of unusually hot climates, it's only natural reaction of the crowd is to find a place to camp for a cup of iced cold coffee.
而這裡最大的金字招牌,當屬當地的夜市。加上馬來西亞那份外「熱情」、熱到有些不尋常的天氣,大家唯一的本能反應就是——趕緊找個能「安營紮寨」的地方,狠狠灌下一杯冰鎮咖啡。

Inside the restaurant, immediate to the right is a small section of merchandize. There is an acrylic rack supposed to display an array of camping equipment, but I guess either they didn't replenish or they sold out due to the sudden flux of public holiday crowd. As you can see this restaurant was featured in many public media.
進到店裡,右手邊立刻能看到一小塊商品展售區。原本那裡有個壓克力架子,應該是用來展示各種露營裝備的,但我猜要嘛是店家沒來得及補貨,要嘛就是被公共假期突如其來的人潮給一掃而空了。正如你所見,這家店確實上過不少大眾媒體的報導。

As the name of the restaurant suggested, the main feature of this restaurant is camp. The decorations, seats, camping table, are all suggesting a heavy influence of a camping site. I'm sure if you're a real camper, you DO NOT enjoy it here 🤣 this is absolutely NOT what a camper would want, overly crowded, kids screaming and running around, kicking up dust from the decorative sand, camp table and foldable chairs squicking, and people are talking way too loud since the environment is unsettling.
顧名思義,這家店的主題就是「露營」。店內的裝飾、座椅、露營桌,無一不在彰顯著濃郁的野營風格。但我敢打包票,如果你是個真正的露營愛好者,你絕對不會喜歡這裡🤣。本來露營就是要避開一下“凡間”,這完全不是露營客想要的感覺:人多到爆炸、小孩在身邊尖叫著橫衝直撞、把裝飾用的沙子踢得漫天飛揚、露營桌和摺疊椅吱吱作響,而且因為環境實在太浮躁,每個人說話都不得不自帶擴音喇叭。

These plates tat was properly stack on the wall are all checklist board. I'm not exactly sure what was the motive of this, but everyone is taking a photo of it, so did I. Maybe its supposed to be a unique "check-in" feature, a thing for the customer to remember, "oh that restaurant with a stack of Mosaic checklist boards on the wall that has the name Ipoh to it". Too long, maybe not. Bleh... Lame. Now I'm being suspected make up words for my restaurant review.
至於牆上整整齊齊排開的這些板子,其實都是留言板。我不太確定店家的意圖是什麼,但既然大家都在拍,那我也跟風來一張。也許它被設計成一種獨特的「打卡」特色,好讓顧客記住:「哦,就是那家牆上掛滿馬賽克打卡板子、上面還寫著怡保的店啊。」放過我吧,我這一段都不知怎麼寫了。雖然有湊字數的嫌疑(我就是趁機會湊字數),總之一句到底這些checklist 不知什麼用途但每個人都搶著拍照打卡就是了。

The plain cheese cake, in my honest opinion, the taste is marvelously good. I believe the chef induced a little bit(probably tiny little bit) of vinegar to it or lime/lemon juice I'm not too sure, but I couldn't find the natural citrusy taste, yet I brings up a mouth watering level of sourish. And the cake base is way more saltier than my usual cheese cake. Once again, I suspect they have added extra salt wilst crushing the biscuits to form the cake base. I should really try thisnew discovery on my next cheese cake(ok. Slowly wait. I am NATO. No Action Talk Only). Texture wise, this cake is unusually dry. I suspect the restaurant operator throw it in extremely low temperature fridge or it was accidentally stored in a freezer. Other than that, perfect slice of cheese cake with all those additional surprises.
接下來說說吃的。這款原味起司蛋糕(Plain Cheese Cake),老實說,味道驚艷得不得了。我懷疑主廚在裡面加了(可能就那麼一丁點)醋,或者是青檸汁/檸檬汁,我不太確定。雖然我吃不出那種天然的柑橘果香,但它卻成功勾出了一種讓人瘋狂分泌唾液的酸爽感。而且,蛋糕底部的餅乾碎比我平時吃的起司蛋糕要鹹得多。我再次強烈懷疑,他們在敲碎餅乾做餅底的時候手抖多加了鹽。這種新發現,我下次自己做起司蛋糕時真的應該試試(行了,慢慢等吧,我就是傳說中的 NATO——光說不練,No Action Talk Only)。從質地上來說,這蛋糕有些反常地偏乾,估計是店家把它扔進了超低溫冰箱,或者是不小心塞進了冷凍庫。不過除了這點之外,這塊帶來源源不斷驚喜的起司蛋糕,堪稱完美。

Coffee selection are quite limited. Since this is one of those unique boutique restaurant, we wouldn't expect they have a full range of Cafe drinks menu, home minister ordered special Osmanthus Latte. If you ask me how does it taste, I can only say, it's A latte with a dash of flower base. It's a mixture of the next door garden smell, coffee, milk and topped up with ice. It has no soul. Don't order Osmanthus latte here.
咖啡的選擇就相當有限了。既然是那種標榜獨特路線的精品店,我們自然不能指望它有像普通咖啡館那樣齊全的飲品菜單。我家「內政部長」(母老虎大人)點了一杯特色桂花拿鐵。如果你問我味道如何,我只能說:這就是一杯「加了點花香底料」的拿鐵。它完美的融合了隔壁花園的泥土味、咖啡、牛奶,最後再加滿冰塊。只能說,毫無靈魂。聽我說,來這千萬別點桂花拿鐵。🤣

Followed by a roasted tea latte. I am not exactly sure if this should taste like this. I have a vision of the barista grind the tea leaf to grain, stuck them in the espresso machine and forced the machine to brew a tea based espresso. Whilst it sounded all that fancy, but the actual taste is kinda horrible. I can do milk tea. I can do heavy black tea. But I can't with this kind of "roasted" tea. It's outright yulky. My girl forced it down anyways.
緊接著是烘焙茶拿鐵(Roasted Tea Latte)。我真拿不準這玩意兒到底是不是這個味。在我的腦補畫面裡,咖啡師是把茶葉磨成了粉,然後硬生生塞進義式咖啡機裡,強行逼機器萃取出一份「茶底濃縮」。聽起來挺花哨、挺高級對吧?但實際味道簡直是場災難。奶茶我可以,濃郁的黑茶我也行,但這種所謂的「烘焙」茶,我真的達咩。簡直可以用難喝來形容。不過我家閨女最後還是硬著頭皮把它灌下去了。

I ordered a Bellagio Cocolate. Strong taste. Not too sweet. No extra surprises. I am happy that this turns out quite ok. If there's anything I would like to comment, it's the volume. I took a stronger sip and the whole thing gone.
我自己點了一杯貝拉吉奧巧克力(Bellagio Chocolate)。味道很濃郁,不會太甜,沒什麼額外的驚喜。看到這杯表現正常,我已經謝天謝地了。如果非要挑點毛病,那就是分量太少。我大口嘬了一下,整杯就直接見底了。

It was a lost course, since 2 out of 3 drinks are bad, I decided might as well go Britney Spears, hit me barbie one more time! I got us a caramel macchiato, hmmm... Surprisingly, it's not surprise good. It's just as I |XP|cted, good caramel taste. Proportion of milk and coffee are correct, not overly milky, espresso taste just right.
既然三杯裡有兩杯都踩了雷,橫豎都是輸,我乾脆學小甜甜布蘭妮——寶貝,再傷害我一次吧(Hit me barbie one more time)!於是我又點了一杯焦糖瑪奇朵。嗯……驚喜的是,它居然沒有驚嚇。完全在預料之中,焦糖香氣很足,牛奶和咖啡的比例拿捏得剛剛好,不會有太重的奶味,espresso濃縮咖啡的風味也恰到好處。

My honest review, I should have seen that coming, but I didn't because it's a self service order at counter restaurant. It was a rush decision to try new things at their boutique restaurant(since it's a boutique restaurant, they always do unique things to surprise their customers), by the time I realize their "special" drinks are wayyyyyyy too special for my ordinary tastebud, the only fall back was the caramel macchiato. I regret I didn't order more cheese cakes and perhaps a famous Ipoh white coffee. Will I come back again? Maybe, but let me assure you I will put my hands off the "unique" flavor drinks 🤣

其實我早該料到會是這個結果,但因為這家店是要自己去櫃檯自助點餐的,當時光顧著趕緊做決定,想在精品店裡嘗試點新鮮玩意兒(畢竟精品店總喜歡搞些特立獨行的東西來給顧客「驚喜」)。等我意識到他們的「特調」飲品對於我這普通的味蕾來說實在是太過「特別」時,一切都太遲了,最後只能靠那杯焦糖瑪奇朵來救場。早知道當初就多點幾塊起司蛋糕,或者直接來杯怡保著名的白咖啡了。如果問我,拉叔!下次還會再來嗎?也許吧。但我保證,我絕對不會再碰那些奇奇怪怪的「獨特」口味飲品了🤣。

其實怡保同姨婆有冇關係
你個問題好概括,我有啲不知所措。我之前系怡保真係有個姨婆,不過佢宜家已經移居天國🤣 不過,若果你系話英文Ipoh讀音同姨婆接近,就絕對唔係。因為Ipoh系指一顆樹嘅品種。
最主要係之前香港有間馬來菜叫姨婆瑪麗, 英文係Ipoh Mari, 搞到我成日覺得怡保同姨婆有關係
