The weather this weekend was amazing. It was perfect hiking weather, with the weather in the canyon just barely hitting 70 degrees.

We hiked up to Timpanogos Cave on Sunday. It was our first hike of the year and the first hike since we have begun working out. We weren't really sure what to expect on this hike. We knew it would be easier than before, but we probably should have taken Saturday off from the Tonal so our bodies could be a bit more rested for the hike.

It is only about 3.5 miles or so round trip, but it is mainly uphill with more than 1000 feet in elevation gain during that time. We are hoping to hike it again pretty soon, but we will definitely take the day off before and probably do a better job at eating a decent breakfast so we have plenty of calories to burn on the hike.

When we got home, we did a recovery workout that was designed to be done after a long hike and it was awesome. It combined some nice deep stretches for the muscles in our legs and incorporated some light strength training for our backs and legs. I think that workout really helped keep the level or soreness down today. It will be pretty cool to see how our bodies recover once we begin planning more hikes for the weekends.

That shirt is awesome and the hike looks great as well. I've kinda hikes most our rutes around here to death but have some new routes planned for the summer. Will be good to explore some new territory.

I got a couple of the Rare Ghost Club shirts. Hopefully they come out with a new line soon.

Dude, how tall are you? what the fffff

how many years does it take to have a beard like yours? i started to grow mine a couple of months ago and it's a baby compared to yours ;-;

I am only 6 feet tall. Hopefully you can get a good beard as you become an adult. You have a long ways to go.

Don't lie. You didn't grow the beard, you were born with it!

That is nice it is paved! Would love to take a bike ride down it, going up is a different story lol

Ps nice beard!

It would be crazy if it wasn't paved. They do tours of the cave at the top, so they need to make it as accessible for as many people as they can. It is still a hard hike tho

What a beautiful environment. I really love these photographs.

Timpanogos cave really looks very beautiful

Thanks for sharing

Cheers

Thank you. We had a great time. It was nice to get there early in the season while it is still green.

Wooow

Dude, you're a giant.
The caves and landscape looks like heaven. Wonderful view

lol. I had to duck going in there or I would have hit my head.

Could you two BE any more colourful and adorable?

lol, my wife loves to wear her bright colors.

And what a great hike that was @derangedvisions 😁
Beautiful scenery well worth the climb up… good start of a hike, to more to come 😉

It is nice to have these views while we get a good workout in. We cant wait to go again.

Yes, that makes a workout extra special. And gives you the right motivation to keep going. I can imagine 😁
We are starting to go on longer hikes too again. Now we can move freely again after all the lockdowns.
Have a great day 👋🏻☀️

Wow very charming place. Especially the two of you are looking very nice. These places of Canyon are very suitable for traveling.

Thanks man. It was a good time.

wow that's some pretty awesome hiking. This is something that I miss about living in more temperate climates. We have places to hike here but I just went on a half a km walk with my dog and had to have a cold shower and am now sitting in the AC with a fan pointed at me just trying to cool back down.

Ya, I can imagine how hot it would be there when going on hikes. But I am sure the hikes are beautiful and well worth it.

I absolutley love doing new hikes but at the same time hate it as you don't know what to expect!

Ya, some of the advanced hikes in this area can get pretty scary because we dont really know what we are getting ourselves into. We managed to turn a quick 2 mile hike into a 10 miler just by taking a wrong turn once, lol.

Had one of those moments before. There's a pretty tough hike I did at the start of last summer that was around 10km and has other trails attached to it. The hike has you rocking across five separate beaches with a bunch of loose walks.

Last august me and my mother decided to hike a trail we've already done but to take a different path. This path led to the fourth beach on the other trail and we thought it was the first beach, so we ended up saying screw it and continue down that hike. It was a miserable time. Especially since we thought we were closer to the end, than what we actually were.

Nice views, but a recovery "workout"? Not for me, my idea of a recovery workout is a glass of wine in a hot tub!

That does sound pretty nice

YAY, that summer weather in Utah is wonderful. I remember hiking Timp when I was in college and hating every minute. Now I have love hiking. I need to do it again when I go back to Utah, maybe to the cave?

The Time Cave hike is one of my favorites. It is a really good workout and you dont get all dirty from walking around on trails or anything.

Did you go along the asphalt track or do the hiking via rough natural terrain?

In my experience even you do recovery workout, it again stimulate muscles to expand and having soar muscle still inevitable. lol

It is paved the whole way up. This hike would be miserable without having a smoot surface. It gets pretty steep at times. It is one of the most walked hikes in the area, so they take pretty good care of it. You have to stay on the path at all times because there is always a possibility of rock slides.

Well, that is some interesting landscape and luckily hot enough to take a hike. Cuz otherwise it is a no-go. Sun can go crazy I guess.
