The best day to release your music is Fridays. The answer comes down to three key reasons: chart calculations, streaming service placements, and tradition. The most compelling reason for a Friday release day is because of the Billboard charts. The magazine tracks song and album activity from Friday through Thursday. Releasing on Friday gives you a full week of chart action. ... Same thing goes for streaming. By releasing music on a Friday, you’re essentially allowing your music’s performance to be calculated as soon as their cycle starts, but if you release on a Tuesday, for example, then your ‘first week’ is technically only considered to be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday—versus a full seven days. Also because the streaming services update the majority of their new music playlists on Fridays, which encourages artists and labels to release that day as well. All that said, Friday can be a very busy and noisy day with so many releases at the same time. ![](https://somee.social/download/b76066c6-2bc1-464f-8e75-e922f92e9cf9)

500'000 streams today!! ➡️ This song reached TOP 7 on the "Viral 50" chart on Spotify ➡️ Got a sync placement in one of Sweden's most popular television shows... and still: 0% help from Spotify..! 0% help from Spotify for Artists..! 0% streams from the Spotify Editorial Playlists 😂! So HOW did we be reach 500'000 streams? (with an artist with NO social media presence & only ONE song released) The answer is: 1. Understanding how the algorithm works 2. Give the listeners what they think they want 3. Send the RIGHT traffic to your Spotify page Want to know more? leave a comment below or send me a message! ![](https://somee.social/download/3ab626e3-89a9-4f6a-9b38-dbc366bc519e)

The biggest artist's myths? I only sing that’s enough: Sure, if your name is Celine Dion... But If you don’t know anything else than singing you’ll have a really hard time at the beginning of your career. You’ll be depending on SO many people! You will need songwriters, producers, recording engineers, musicians, etc for everything you do. Learn more stuff! I'll be discovered: Probably one of the biggest myths. There is no such thing as just “waiting” for something to happen. You need to work, work, work and be top of mind as often as possible for as many as possible! Nobody will find you, you have to find them! Idol & X-Factor is a great idea: It’s a horrible idea unless you have a really great plan. Thinking that “I’ll sing some in X-Factor and then my career will bloom” is really out of touch with reality. On top of that, the contracts that you have to sign are ridiculous and it’s a shame that these shows still get away with it year after year. Others will take care of the business stuff: This is a clear path to being fooled. Just read any artist biography and you’ll see a clear pattern, some greedy manager or record label completely ripped off the artist and left with all the money. Know your rights and never sign bad contracts! I need a major record label to succeed: No, you don’t! You need to have a great marketing plan and a lot of patience combined with high-quality music. The era of the big record labels is dead and the future will be all about the independent artists and smaller labels.⠀ ![](https://somee.social/download/f17c0cc5-a63f-4f0b-ace4-3f8359232203)
