Who remembers this little guy? If you do put your hand up. His name is Grumpy, a buddy of mine who often comes traveling with us, and I recently wrote about him here. He's pictured above at Piazza San Marco Venice, Italy.
OK, so put your hand down, I can't see it anyway! 😂
Anyway, as per the blog linked above, Grumpy comes travelling with us, or more accurately, came travelling with us. You see, in the blog above I write that the poor little guy has gone missing...After new information has surfaced I can confirm now that Grumpy is now presumed dead. Yes, he has officially been declared deceased.
Some of you were as concerned about his whereabouts as Faith and I so a search was conducted, a thorough search, but he was nowhere to be found. Faith and I are hoping he turns up as over the years we've shared many travels and adventures and...Well...We miss his grumpy green face...But he his dead-status has been officially recorded nonetheless.
Towards the end of the exhaustive search I decided it might be time to contact his family, ostensibly to report his absence and probable demise, but also in the hope they had had contact from him...They hadn't.

I spoke with Grumpy's cousin, a legit little dude called, Grouchy, who seemed rather grouchy, miffed, surly, sullen, irritated and cantankerous in respect of the disappearance of his cousin Grumpy - I guess he misses him just like I do...But after a while he came around and we had a good chin-wag.
As it turns out Grouchy is in-between gigs at the moment and he offered to come down here from Greendudeland, the land of green dudes, and take Grumpy's place, come travelling with us. I thought it was a sterling idea and even offered to pay the airfare from Greendudeland to Australia. It's a long way, but $12.90 didn't seem too bad.
Anyway, Grouchy arrived recently and you can see him here enjoying an Asahi 3.5 with me. He thought it was a bit girlie of me to only have low-carb beers in the fridge but he sucked down two in about 20 minutes and went looking for the third so yeah, obviously not too fussy!
It's good to have him here and I made him as welcome as possible. We spent some time getting to know one another and we also talked about Grumpy and all the good times that little green bugger and I had together. The image below shows you some of the places we went: Italy, France and Belgium among them. I'll miss that little grumpy bugger. Ah good times, good times. Why did you have to go Grumpy, whyyyyyyyyy!

We also talked about the visual similarity between Grumpy and his cousin Grouchy who look very alike.
You can see the difference in the mouth though with Grumpy looking far grumpier than Grouchy does...They have different hearts and their eyes are different too which is fortuitous; In the advent of Grumpy making a miraculous return we'll be able to tell the cousins apart! Oh, Grouchy also has a couple screws holding his noggin together which Grumpy didn't have.

So, for the moment Grouchy is going to get acclimatised to the Australian weather, and find his feet so to speak...He'll probably drink all my beer too!
We have a trip coming up to Tasmania, right down south of Melbourne across Bass Strait; It's actually that little island everyone seems to forget is a State of Australia! It's only for a week or so, but will be a good chance for Grouchy to get into the swing of things prior to our longer trip in July when we're off to Scandinavia and Finland (I believe Scandinavia doesn't technically include Finland, but I could be mistaken.)
I'm sure you'll see more of Grouchy prior to that as we're going to hang out and get to know each other a bit more. He'll pop up in my blogs from time to time as we seem to have similar interests.
Anyway, for those of you who have sent messages of hope for Grumpy I thank you on behalf of his family back in Greendudeland and, of course, a heartfelt thank you from me as well. It is tragic to have lost the little grumpy bastard, but he's in a better place, or so we like to think.
It's onwards and upwards though, so look out for the adventures and shenanigans sure to take place with Grouchy!

It is true that the Finns like to go solo (with an incomprehensible language and notable unique features in their culture altogether - we could learn a thing or two from their elegant social solutions, notably their ideas on education and the interface of social concerns and personal freedom), while the Danes, Swedes and Norwegians feel safer clumped together as Scandanavians as and when it suits them. In turn, we might well wonder what makes them form such a unit. Norway is one of the most wealthy countries of Europe and Denmark has a similar vibe to Holland or Northern Germany putting cosiness (hygge) over financial success. I don't know if any of them feel particularly "Scandinavian" over European or just uniquely themselves. Maybe it's just the rest of us Europeans that can't forget the Vikings as a group to keep a special collective eye on.....
Grumpy or Grouchy, both, are inspiring projects for a woman with too much odd bits of yarn lying about. Wonder what one in red or blue would turn out like! Gritty or Gloomy?
I think I was a Viking in a former life - Just saying.
Anyway, I'm looking forward to heading back to see my family there and to exploring Denmark a little too as I haven't been there before. I like the sound of hygge so hopefully I find hygge when I am there.
Grouchy is looking forward to the trip also, although he has oter adventures to enjoy first.
Thanks for responding and taking the time to read my post int he first place.

Poor Grumpy, hello grouchy!! Much more photogenic than his predecessor!
Oh yes, I'm still feeling a bit raw about the loss of Grumpy, it hurts inside...But Grouchy is legit, a pretty cool dude, despite drinking way more booze than Grumpy did. I'm sure we'll have some good adventures!
O that's sad Grumpy has malfunctioned ☹️ On greener news we now have Grouchy to get to know😀

A sad, and yet happy day. Grumpy had a good run mate, and whilst we don't know what happened to him exactly what we do know is that he lived life to the fullest extent and was
happygrumpy with it. Lol.Here's Grouchy helping me with some Lego tonight. He knows his stuff. Look how happy he is to be building Lego.
We will miss Grumps, great to see Grouchy helping out already 👍

Old Grouchy is a good lad. 😋
I thought is was kernit the frog, are they related?
Well, whether someone in the family enjoyed a little dalliance with a frog back in the day no one really knows. I'll ask Grouchy the next time he gets drunk as I might have more luck getting the information out of him.
He's sizing up my Lego Defender right now...I think he reckons it's bloody perfect for him.
He looks nervous, are you sure he knows how to drive?
He's had a few beers, and I don't think knowing how to drive matters to the little green fella. He's lost interest now anyway. He found my medication and is contemplating taking it with some scotch to see what happens.
This looks ADORABLE! I didn't think I'd say things like that in my adult life, but gosh-darn it this is cute. I didn't have a scale for how big the Land Rover is, or how small Grouchy is , until I saw this. Since I've already convinced you to make videos on these cool Lego Technic builds, I don't suppose I could convince you to post more pics of Grouchy in them?
Yeah, Grouchy is small, the Lego Defender is big! Lol.
Makes me do videos, now wants Grouchy videos...Your wish is my command.
I'd already planned to let Grouchy muscle his way into some of my videos so you'll get to see more of that little green dude as time goes on. ✅
I'd be ecstatic to see more pics/vids of your Lego builds with Grouchy in them. He will be your blogging buddy, as well as your travel buddy! ;-)

He helped me to build this...
Really? ... what a crafty lil' buddy you are, Grouchy. I guess he'll be our go-to mechanic, and in-house differential technician. Here's one pat on the back for Grouchy, and one for you, @galenkp!
Nice to meet you, Grouchy. Good to know that you now have a new travel buddy to accompany you on your adventures. Everyone knows that its not safe to go alone. Still, I'll miss that ol' sour grump. Rest in peace, Grumpy. We'll never forget you :'-(
Just passed on your greeting to Grouchy...He says g'day mate. Nice to meet ya!
And g'day to you too, Grouchy.

Lol.
"Grumpy is now presumed dead" lol...this post is a hoot! Poor Grumpy but welcome Grouchy! I hope he likes to travel but he's got big shoes to fill!
Grouchy is a bit of a trouble maker, but with my good influence I think he'll be fine.
lol...you can be a good influence on him! lol. He'd have to change his name!
If he displays tendencies that are less grouchy I may suggest it...His face may contradict a name of a more happy nature though. Lol.
He may need a face lift. lol. Hey I don't think I ever told you that I sent you 5 steem for the League win last week and may be sending more for this week!
Oh cool, thanks for that, not necessary, but welcome.
Yes sir, you are very welcome sir galenkp, you deserve it even if you aren't tryin to win. lol..or maybe ESPECIALLY if you ain't tryin to win!
