Society's Priorities

in The Kingdom4 days ago

I hope you got a chance to listen to my latest #podcast from a few days ago. If you did, this post will make sense. Because I'm going to continue my 'rant' of sorts towards what I feel is a failure by society as a whole.

But alas, 'an enemy has done this' so I really shouldn't be surprised.

A few days ago, I went over the situation that happened outside of my store while I was working. A man that was obviously under the influence of some kind of drug or alcohol, decided to attempt to snatch a young girl from her mother.

We had video evidence, and the recordings were able to get a detailed visual of the suspect's appearance and actions. So we did what you think anyone would do....We alerted the police.

After hours of not showing up, the police ended up leaving us a message and telling us in one way or another..."They are super busy, under staffed and won't be really doing much with the file case."

This upset us and I have been dwelling on this for 48 hours plus now.

Look, this could have been a whole lot worse. And I thank God that it wasn't. However the damage was still done, emotionally to that mother and young child.

Which brings me to my 'rant'...

What are we doing here?

Children seem to have become an after thought in today's society. These same police will drive around town, running plates for anyone that may have expired registration, and the police force has a budget for that....But protecting children? No, apparently they are too busy and under staffed.

Of course, when you start given attention to things, more 'drama' pops up and then this comes across my feed on X....

This was apparently from 2022 where a government in Canada was seeking to allow parents to euthanize their young children that were handicapped or severely deformed. Again, thank God this never became law and it apparently never had any traction.....Thank God.

But again....

What are we doing here?

Why is it that it seems children have become an after thought in society and deemed, a burden to some? What is going on?

I dunno man, I just think this is completely backwards on how we should be operating as a society. In the case of what happened in front of my store, I would say the cops should have got the evidence and at least searched for the guy to take him off the streets. At least to sober him up, and potential seek treatment of some kind.

Instead, they shrugged it off. And Lord, I pray that nothing happens because of that attitude the police had.

We need to do better as a society when it comes to protecting our kids.

We should advocate for a system that protects the most vulnerable among us.

Agree it is important to protect and help the handicapped and disadvantaged people

That is a insane law that should have never been considered
