While I’m still on a bit of a posting hiatus I can’t help but try to share a bit of the Halloween spirit in keeping with my Gothic dark side. As some of you have been entertained by my past Halloween posts, I tend to emphasize shiny selections away from what we can say, “Mainstream” stackage.
However, with 2023 having been a challenging year and I haven’t had the luxury of the same resources and time to continue that theme. I can hope 2024 will present new opportunities to resume my fun Stacking style.
Today’s feature is my remaining Silvertowne’s Halloween themed bar and round. I’ve already featured the Silvertowne Halloween ‘Frightful Night’ Bar which is still currently available at most retailers and priced not far over their typical generic premiums. I happened to pick up the HAPPY Halloween Pumpkin round and Witch Bar the week following Halloween 2022 when spot prices were declining. And with the retailer offering an additional $1.50 discount putting these into generic silver prices I jumped at rounding up my order up with these rather than the their popular generic Buffalo rounds.
The Happy Halloween pumpkin round and Frightful Night are available in an enameled colorized version. I have yet to get the Happy Halloween Headless horseman bar of which I am convinced this a bit of a self-parody of Silvertowne’s on Pony Bar product line.
The Silvertowne Annual Halloween Treats Collection is a seasonally available product with “Frightful Night’ being the most recent addition to the collection while the Happy Halloween Witch Bar is no longer minted. Available from only the Silvertowne Mint for an additional $5 a message can be engraved on the Obverse. By this, Silvertowne suggests as a gift to our kids and grandkids as an alternative to chowing down on unhealthy sweets. I can't begin to quote our alarming Diabetes rate in our western culture, and It would make sense to have silver in your hand than having silver drilled into your teeth! Buzzzz, buzz.
But in recalling my earlier kiddie years, I’d say “Thanks Gramps!” toss the shiny silver bar onto my dresser and then bolt out the door for the free sweets. Nowadays as an adult, I cringe at refined sugar, but should I ever catch wind that someone is giving away silver bars … the Bloody Raven will be there in under ten minutes or less, ‘Trick or Treat!’☠️🎃

These are what I consider Cute and Tame Halloween theme. Then there are the fringe Halloween, then the "I can't bare to look" Halloween. It's amazing what Indie silver Pourers can make, These Silvertowne Halloween treats silver are sweet but the fringe level Halloween are the ones I'm really after unfortunately I have to wait next year until I am unpoor. Silver's a sweet treat for the holidays, nice and shiny ones from SilverTowne. I was wondering what the blank spots were for, engraving's a cool use for them, happy Halloween 🎃 :D
The blank Obverse are typically for personalization as these are meant to given as gifts and a reason why they are not dated. These end up as typical generic silver for most stackers, but for the few Gothic stackers, these are delightful treasures.
