Good evening guys, in general i love to cook nice meals. And I would say I am not that bad. Some friends of mine were invited for dinner. My plan: I want to make some Sushi for them :) Do you like Sushi?
Before I even began making the Sushi I had made a few fatal mistakes. I had bought sweet Indonesian soya sauce, I had no rice vinegar, no sugar, a strange version of fresh cheese called "Quark" in German and NO rolling mat. So this was basically doomed from the start!
The time was running out and my friends would soon be on the doorstep. Since I had no rolling mat I decided to use the package of the nori sheets. Being in rush, I started making the rolls with pretty hot rice which almost gave me blisters on my fingertips.
The filling of the roll, like the "Quark" started melting and it all turned into something resembling a rice stew with vegetables! And it looked horrific :D

The friends turned up and I served the Sushi. Anticipating that they would comment on the disaster in front of them. They did not but they had one piece each and that was it. They were done!

lovely post hey we learn from our mistakes keep trying it in till u perfect it then invite them over for sushi and watch there reaction as they eat it all and ask 4 more great that y'all still enjoyed thetyume and went out awesome
We all start small and learn as we go. Props to you for not giving up. It takes the right ingredients and a lot of know how to make good sushi. Me... I like to be on the receiving end of it. Yum!
