Training partner. Makes a difference!

in #introduceyourself9 years ago (edited)

Couples that train together stay together..

I'm sure you've all heard this before! I'm posting again about having a training partner as it can be all the difference sometimes.

A partner or a friend is an essential part of keeping the motivation high.

Be it support, friendly competition, that pushing edge, the list goes on.
Also bailing on your own session is one thing but bailing on a friend can be much harder!

These all add up to ensure firstly you get to gym and then push yourself that little bit harder.

Make it a friendly game, first one to lose 5kg has to buy the next coffee (or protein shake), first one to lift ___kg on bench press etc.

Not to mention your not by yourself, you can catch up, have a chat but remember your there to train.

If your new to gym try find a partner with a bit more experience then you can learn faster and not feel out of place.

If you don't have a gym membership I challenge you by the end of this week find a friend and join together!!

LET ME KNOW HOW YOU GO!!

Thanks. I am beginning to aware my body shape and health but i wonder if i need gym membership at first? I have joined gym couples time but end up just wasting money because i never went. Maybe there are some simple exercise i can do it at home then later upgrade to gym when i am more ready?

Definitely, have a look at my post a few posts back.
You can do nearly all of them except for squats at home :)

Totally agree! I miss my training partner from college. She's a marine helicopter pilot now :-)

I agree. That is the ideal situation. I sometimes just jump into a set with someone doing the benchpress so he can spot me. Eventually if you go regularly enough, you might make workout friends too. Best results I got was following a training session with a partner. Namaste. I'll follow you.

Definitely agree, being pushed to try new workouts always benefits as well!

Wow! You really think training together strengthens bonds? I might have to try this out myself.

Without a doubt. Support can do nothing but.
