Climate change irreversibly affects our lives and those of future generations and it is essential to realize this as soon as possible on a global level, but also and above all on an individual level.
Respect for the environment must start with us, from every single citizen because through small everyday actions we can really make a difference, starting from the attention to the waste.

It is up to all of us to adopt a daily "Green Attitude"

to stem the waste of resources and actively contribute to save our planet.
It is time to encourage our governments to adopt measures that are ever more respectful of the environment, through investments on renewable energy and the abandonment of fossil fuels, starting to build with eco-sustainable criteria and focusing on the technology sector that invests in devices with a positive impact on the environment.
All countries of the world must find new solutions collaborating with each other to achieve concrete results.
It is crucial to stem the phenomenon of climate change which leads to increasingly devastating natural disasters like hurricanes, floods, earthquakes that affect millions of people.

But where do we start from to make a concrete contribution towards an eco-sustainable society?

What are the small daily actions that each of us can do to reduce our impact on the environment?

The first and one of the most important things to do to save the Planet it is to take care of energy conservation.

Let's take responsibility for energy consumption that we do at home, at work and in use of small and big appliances.
Then begin to turn off the light when we leave a room, stop leaving the electrical appliances on standby but turn them off, replace light bulbs with other low-consumption ones.
All this will be good for the planet and also to our bill.
Also the choice of domestic equipment according to the energy class, it can contribute to reducing energy consumption.

Another sore point is the consumption of a precious good:

Water, the most precious resource on the planet.

We have to begin using it sparingly paying attention to the efficiency of taps and pipes.
When and where it is possible, let's go back to drink the water that flows from our tap maybe using appropriate filters, to introduce less plastic bottles into the environment as well as to the pollution produced during their transport.

In addition to rediscovering the genuineness and freshness of the local product, all the excessive packaging used to pack food by the large retailers is eliminated.
And here I know that I make many enemies talking about..
the meat consumption.
We must enter the perspective of changing our diet decreasing the consumption of meat.
We can't pretend like nothing's wrong: the production cycle of beef is responsible for 18% of global greenhouse gas emissions in addition to encouraging the intensive process of deforestation to create new farms.
Just reduce meat consumption preferring legumes, fruits and vegetables.

What to do with the Plastic bags !!
We all know the damage they do to the environment and to the living species that populate it, including human beings.
So yes to the biodegradable bags and soon the ones that dissolve with water, of which I spoke in one of my posts.
Just use disposable bags, reuse them as much as possible, even better if we prefer cloth bags maybe created by us with DIY, of similar tutorials the web is full.

Recycle recycling recycle

Before throwing something, let's ask ourselves if the object has really exhausted all its usefulness.
By turning around on the web you can find many good ideas to turn used objects into something useful again.
Another intelligent and important contribution that can be made to the environment is:

Separate Waste Collection.

Glass, plastic and paper must be recycled and transformed to resume their life cycle again through the production of new materials and products.
We are not yet in a good position to cancel our impact on the environment but the important thing is to start and not give up and above all spreading our "Green Attitude" as much as possible with friends, relatives, neighbors, work colleagues, in short, with everyone because

the moment to act is now without forgetting that great things always start from the smallest ones.

Great post with some very useful information!!
Where I am from it is the law to recycle and if you don't, you can be fined $250 or more!!
We have been recycling and composting in our home for over 20 years!

Hello Halfpintohoney, thanks for your message. Unfortunately not all the governments in the world make the same policies on the environment.
Here in Italy, it has been recycling for over 30 years but still today there are differences between virtuous regions that collect and dispose of their waste properly and regions that don't perform their job well and so they are back in the waste disposal. I hope that politicians start thinking about the future of the next generations and begin to deal seriously with the environment.
