In islam, there is a very famous hadith for mankind that guarantees success, but we fail miserably in following it. Thats the root of all other problems, and so.
“Whoever can guarantee (to protect) what is between his two jaw-bones and what is between his two legs, I guarantee Paradise for him.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari 6474
Here, it means the guard of our tongue and private parts, controlling them, following the ethics, and not engaging in any wrongdoing. If we can gurantee about these two, then we are guranteed of paradise.
Now, how many of us can actually keep these two in control? Can we gurantee of them?
If I start with the private parts, it's very crucial; we can see our societies getting devastating with moral degradation, unethical affairs, character degradation, and so on. We aren't staying within our limits, aren't following the moral responsibilities. We are seeing the families falling apart, trust issues, and whatnot. People are losing self-control, can't stick to the ideal moral paths, and these lead to broader issues one after another.
And the most overlooked and common one is the misuse of the tongue. In our everyday life, we are using it for various purposes; everything that is expressed via it, are they truthful, beneficial, and morally sound, or harmful, false, and blameworthy? If we had followed the positive side for everything, we could have achieved greater goals, the ultimate paradise as guaranteed. Our society would have been calmer, more peaceful, truer, more loyal, and worth living in. Look around, full of chaos, fraud, drama, lies, and whatnot. Everyone is in a race to suppress others to climb the ladder in this life, forgetting about the ultimate life after death. While doing so, we are destroying the society for others to live in, as well as our own afterlife.
I try my heart and soul to guard these two. The tongue is slippery, lies get slipped like it doesnt matters, sounds so normal, shit. To be honest, I'm not different than a distracted person who knows what the way to get to paradise, yet falls behind in achieving it. Such a shame it is!
Can you just imagine the fact that it is so simple, so straightforward, that you just need to guard two things and the paradise is guaranteed. On the other hand, we are so doomed that we can't even ensure that. Come on, what's good in telling lies? Hurting people with words? What lies sex outside marriage? in pornography? in losing modesty and dignity? We all know these on the egative side, harm these bring, but yet we fall for these. How doomed we are!
