This is Christ Church in Spitalfields, London. It was designed by Nicholas Hawksmore (1661 - 1736) along with 3 other churches of similar design built in the east end of London in the 18th century.
It was still possible back in my childhood to see all four churches from the top of Observation Hill in Greenwich
Today they are mostly obscured by new tower blocks.

Hawksmoor built six churches in London and collaborated with the top architects of his day including Sir Christopher Wren on the building of St Paul's Cathedral.

The Occult connection
There was a lot of chatter when I was a child about the occult nature of the alignment of Hawksmoors churches. Many occult conspiracies surround these churches that I won't repeat here in detail.
I lived close to St Anne's Church (see map) and in the graveyard there was a large pyramid shaped tomb about 15 feet tall (5 meters).
It was believed that if you walked around it three times at midnight you would see your future?
I didn't walk around this tomb (past my bedtime) but we did investigate many of the plague pits in this part of London when we were kids, but that's another story.
Have a great week ahead folks. My entry for #monochromemonday initiated by @old-guy-photos

This sir, is a wonderful photograph of a church and I love it in monochrome.
It is an impressive structure for sure and would have been the tallest building in the area when it was built.
not an easy one to frame

Nice mono church!
I don't think it's mono. I think this church is Anglican 😂 @old-guy-photos
Wonderful photograph @molometer and perfect for monomad.
It's not easy to get the whole building in the frame in a place like London. Great shot!
Thanks Gillian, it is an imposing building and is still in use today as a shelter for the homeless amongst other things.
