Last week I asked if you could help me to identify a mystery UFO image that I captured while doing a spot of #astrophotography As you can see in the blown up image below there were many stars in the photo too. Well it took me a while to figure it out but now I know what happened. Thank you all for your contributions.

shooting star or comet. 😁 Is it a meteor? And is the other thing iridium satellite flares? ( I had to look up iridium flares which was very interesting)
Pretty sure one of them is the Hale–Bopp comet, however which one I have no idea LOL. No I guess that isn't it, but I remember when the Heaven's Gaters committed suicide to reach it back in the day.

All very interesting, fun and quite dark suggestions from Paul to what the mystery UFO could be but no one got the actual rather mundane answer and it had me baffled for a while too until I thought about it carefully and retraced my steps in taking the photo.
Mystery UFO image...solved!
The camera was on a tripod on my rather rickety wooden deck in the garden when I took the photo.
The mystery UFO was an aircraft and the reason for the wobbly trail behind it was the tiny movement of the camera on the wobbly deck over a several second exposure. That's why it appears to settle down into a straight line as the tiny oscillations of the camera reduces to zero.

Well the honest truth is that I was actually approached by MI6 and the Secret Service and asked to 'cover up' the UFO story and to use my modestly creative imagination to make up a story to explain this photo of a real UFO!
