Today we are at the lake house and just had to post this sunset over the lake.
I'm trying out the HDR function on this smartphone. The image looks great but you have to hold the phone stock still steady for a few seconds to get a clear image.
It's like going back in time using this old method.

When I looked at the picture, my first thought was “Oh my… what a gorgeous setting!” I wish I could set up a canvas right where the picture was taken.

It is pretty amazing what this phone can do but you have hold it super steady.
In HDR mode it takes three images and does some magic with them.
This is how the image came out with no filters or post production. Amazing really and it's not an expensive smartphone either!
You got some great lines and curves too. A really gorgeous shot:)
Thanks Pryde, the camera on this phone in HDR mode picks up so much detail. I must say. I was pleasantly surprised. First time I've really tried it out on a good vista.

You said you have to take three shots in a row to achieve this effect?
It is pretty incredible, I agree. The high dynamic range (HDR) mode takes three images simultaneously and composites the various tones captured into something greater than the basic capabilities of the camera.
Many newer smartphones have this capability but you have to hold it very still to avoid blurring.

I seldom take photos with my phone but I may have to try it out
I've had the phone almost a year and just thought I'd give it a go.
Most smartphones have HDR and with your eye, you'll get something amazing I'm sure.
