Rice Field Pest Control

Rice is an essential crop for feeding most of the people here. Also, some rice field owners are not just thinking about their own daily meal but selling it in the market. To make sure every owner can reach the demands for them to sell and at the same time for their families to feed. Added more, the effort they will spend and not be wasted. Spraying insecticides is very important in every rice field.

By the use of these insecticides, there will be a huge scope increase of productivity. To reach the demands, most farmers applied pest control or insecticides after a month when the rice will start to show up or grow. Some farmers experienced only half of the whole rice fields contained with rice grain. The other half of the plants were hollow like there are no grains of rice in some plants. The efforts, the time, and especially the money they spent were wasted because of the insect. For that reason, all the rice field owners use pesticides or insecticides to kill the insects.

There are different types of insects that are hard to recognize but this farmer I talked about earlier named only one. It was a caterpillar that destroyed the plants. He said that if it will be ignored it can be the worst like nothing will be harvested. To stop this every farmer uses pest control to kill those insects that can harm the plants. The question is when and the process of dealing with these insects stops them from harming the plants. I'm not an expert so what I will be stating is according to what the farmer said to me earlier.

When to use pesticides?

They will use pesticides twice in the plants. From the time they planted the rice, one month later they will use insecticides. They're doing it so that the plants can grow well. The next time they will use pesticides when it's almost time for harvesting. This should be done as well so that insects will not eat the fruits of it. To be clear with everyone, there's a fruit of rice and you can see if the germs or the husks of it will be removed. Though it is called grains of rice to be specific anyway that's when the farmers use insecticides.

How many pesticides can be used?

To make sure the farmers can wash out or stop the insects from attacking the crops. They will be using a spray when spraying the crops. They have a specific material named sprayer and the tank of it can only contain 4 liters as you can see in the image and the video after. Depending on how wide the rice fields are, every tank of that sprayer to use will only be placed with 4 cups or 4 measuring materials attached to that insecticide. If you have money, you can spray a block of rice fields as you want just don't overdo it, or else the plants will be poisoned from that chemical insecticide. As always, too much will be dangerous, anyway, I have a short video uploaded on my youtube channel.

Gasto kaayo ang humayan jud but wala mahimo rice kung dili bombahan ug insecticide.

I don't know if the caterpillar or 'pyangaw' will be gone for good. They are always there as long as I can remember. That is why, its hard for us to get away from foods that is insecticide free nowadays.
