It's unknown what kind of information it collects without the user's knowledge, but that would also be unwelcome.
The application's step-counting process is pretty dumb.
It would be wrong to describe this as having measurement logic.
For example, try shaking your phone with your hand. The number of steps will go up more than the actual walking.
