Except for the handful of good friends I've already shared this with. Y'all are totally ready for this. I ask you, how does it feel to be prepared for the worst? XD
Back story
After winning the early July #pixelArtWeekly competition and posting further hysterically funny gif and cartoon animations like such as, I heard from @acidyo. He asked me to make a banner with a "Mew" in it. I had to look up Mew to find out who he was. Originally, I was going to make a flying Mew, then I thought about a Mew with a flask of acid (derived from @acidyo, of course). I don't know if he liked the idea at first, but my spastic insistence won the day!
The best way to drop ACID!
Look, childrens, acid is really psychedelic and I recommend steering clear unless you want your burgers, fries and dogs to start talking to you. But if you're going to play with acid, might was well burn and melt social media icons. Always mention your acid endeavors in passing to your folks before doing so. Wear goggles, a flame-proof suit and an apocalyptic oxygen mask, and use very long tongs to handle the acids.

The art's made in illustrator and the animation is with after effects. No way would photoshop give the same results, wayyyy too clunky.

Haha, yeah I could see this being pretty time consuming. How much do you normally charge for stuff like this? I'm broke as fuck and can't afford it more than likely, but I was just curious :P
If some random guy called and asked for a price, I'd probably say $300... It takes so much time for me to do these!
Steemit - sometimes I'm feeling generous and do stuff for free, especially if I can get upvotes/publicity from it...
Right now my biggest deterrent is lack of time... I'd love to do a monthly giveaway for banner animations....
I think a monthly giveaway would be a great idea, so long as it's not piling on too much work on your plate, haha.
The exposure you'd get would net you some good followers more than likely as well, instead of just crappy follow4follow people or spam bots. Either way, just keep at it when you can, man!
@deadspace, I know right? I checked with an established motion graphics guy and he said he'd charge $750 to make a gif like that... yes, it's just a gif, but it's complicated for sure.

Damn, man, lol. I figured around $3-500 would be the going rate for short animations. Commissions that are that time consuming should bring a pretty penny though, so I'm not surprised.

The melting was the fun part (although kind of tricky).
The good thing is that once I melted one of the icons, I just duplicated the melt layers and switched new images in. So I didn't have to melt all 5 of them.

Thanks, this one was pretty straightforward but took a lot of thinking/planning... I'm still not good at animating the characters with hand-drawn frames... for example it'd take me a year to have the Mew doing a somersault and it would look bad XD
I get sloppy...........i have no patience....i draw each frame too....but what i do is mainly skip all the small details lol.....and then i hate it when i export as gif and the quality is trashed :/
Sounds so headachey... Yep I'm just not a natural at the frame by frame stuff... I prefer easier projects in higher volumes!! :D
