Hey guyz,
Life circumstances have hindered my activity here, but ideally, it should not be that way... I guess what I need to be doing is letting go of perfectionism, which in itself is an insane goal...
It's OK to post bits and pieces of what I'm up to lately, I should not agonize over bringing full videos to completion.
So anyway, you could say this year has forced me to restructure... I'm 100% done with YouTube, as their shady AF new algorithm has shipwrecked my already unsatisfactory views. You heard it here first, they're not only destroying news, conspiracy, political or similar channels, they've wrecked mine too!
If my business were a car
As far as my business, it's been like watching someone waste away over months... I really don't know what to do to revive things... Three years ago, things were on FIRE, but the more stupid chambers and network groups I join, the worse things get!
I'm learning new skills like PowerPoint (as much as I hate it), with plans to even try Python, Premiere — and brush up on Blender and voice overs...
I don't know if diversifying will help. It does seem programmers never run out of work though, whereas my field is terrible for finding work... 
Finally, I'm going to have 6 months of contract work... Not huge pay, but buys me time to hopefully get my life in order... when the contract is over, it's sink or swim... things are get really crazy up in here and this feels like it's my last chance to shine... :)

Sorry to hear you've been a victim of a search algorithm.
I'm beholden to Google, they tweaked it about 10 months ago and my traffic took a 20% hit, I did some tweaks and it corrected... however my bounce rate is now much lower, so I'm thinking this was actually a pretty fair tweak from Google.
Still, it could happen to any of us: reduction in traffic = reduction in income, that's why I rarely turn down more regular work, I'll keep taking that until my blog/ passive ish income is really superfluous to me needs.
I've actually just started learning Python... I figure you simply CANNOT go wrong with learning a bit of code even if you never use it. I'm only a few hours in but already it's demystified so much of what I see on Steem. And I think it will be relatively easy to incorporate a few custom Python projects into my blogs in the coming years.

did you end up deleting weaker videos ? or have to redo all of them? a 95% reduction in views is insane...
basically i make design/illustration and motion graphics. this is an example below, but not really.
in reality, i make explainer videos and such for corporations. WHEN there's actually work, that is XD
I rarely delete anything, if I do, I consolidate and do a redirect, I don't really do vids, just blog posts, which link to revision resources I sell. I do OK, very seasonal though.

That sucks that Youtube is being mean to you. Sick those chicks on them. When I see videos of tiny animated chicks popping up on YT, I'll know your plan in working!
Haha... speaking of birds, you ever see the YouTube channel named, "Berd"? It's all jacked up, but the guy has a million subs...

Mannnn I just learned the top web design company in my region makes over 1.5 million a year, but their employees (web developers!) get paid as little as novice construction workers make... That's effed up man! The bosses are making 25x more than the team that actually makes the company what it is!
And the rich get richer
Cant even imagine being the backbone of the company and getting treated like that... >:( Not even a basic health plan for them... cheap asses for employers...
