‘Hive’ is the main token of the platform to provide token economy. You need to own some Hive token (minimum 15-20) to use the platform. When you have some Hive, you can ‘power-up’ and stake the tokens on the blockchain. Your staked Hive helps you to vote for the contents as per your wish. Voting is the ‘like’ feature here. Your staked Hive generates new Hive as per your staking contribution to the total pool value. Sounds cool? Wait, more for you! Suppose you have voted on a post or comment. The payout for the post comes after 7 days from the generation date. The author gets paid in cryptocurrency as per the received vote value. You also get paid then for consuming and upvoting the content. More the content is voted as per cumulative vote value, your reward also increases. It is a bit over-simplified explanation but you can definitely start with the tips.
