23 days is impressive... now let’s see how far you can take that streak! 😁

🙏🙏 i hope i can reach 30 days 😅

Hello snaapie fam ❤️❤️

It's been a good Monday.

A lot has been happening, with everything happening all over the world today people are being killed, people have been robbed.

If I had the chance to change anything in this world I will make sure there is peace for everyone.

What would you change in the world if you could?

97641.png

If I had the ability to change the world, I would not. I may think of getting a cure for cancer and other untreatable chronic disease, but I would not remove hardship, struggles, suffering, death and other negativities. The fear of these things are what gives humans purpose.

When you mentioned getting a cure for cancer. I felt so happy I will literally marry you for this thing now that you just said, cancer has taken a lot from people and talking about the world being a peaceful free of struggles and negativity that would be lovely.

It is well ❤️‍🩹
But then, a someone who has been sick before, if I have the opportunity to remove something it will be health related. Can't say what sickness I will take away yet, but it will be something people are battling with and spending a lot on just to get cured from it.

It's so sad for real. A whole lot of adversities occuring on daily basis to real people at different parts of the world.

If I had the opportunity to change one thing about the world, it will be the lack of empathy, understanding and communication between people.
Heaven knows this has caused more harm than good, breeding malice, quarrels, hatred, violence and in severe cases, death.

It I could change one thing in the world, I will provide cure for illness or viruses that has no cure.

That's lovely .
I still waiting the person that will find the cure of cancer.

I so much hate it.

Aswear 😔😔

It's well ❤️‍🩹

That's a very good one .
I look forward to that

One bad month doesn’t define your future. Keep going—better days can be closer than you think. ❤️‍🔥

It's been raining here nonstop.

Nonstop rain can really change the mood... hopefully it clears up soon!

It will stop, then rain again.

Sounds like very unpredictable weather... similar to what we’ve been getting here lately! 😅

Oh wow.... You would be thankful if you're out with an umbrella

Unfortunately, I haven't brought one. Huhu

Oops that's gonna be a wet day

Same here

Enjoy the rain 😁😁

I managed to snap this dragonfly with my phone. We get various insects in the garden.
image1

I think after rains we often saw such kind of insects but you captured it clearly

I tried to capture one the other day, but it was moving like crazy and all the pics out of focus.

This one was kind enough to settle there for a while.

After a long draught that has lasted years, we had some solid rain that was most welcome. What was not welcome was the swarms of bugs that made their presence known. A bug called a midge has been a real bother, but just over the last week, we've begun seeing a whole lot of dragonflies. Turns out they are dining on those same midges. We are very glad to see them.

Midges are not too welcome, but we don't get much that bites here. You need the predators to keep them under control. I am hoping the dragonflies will use my pond to breed.

I'd never heard of a midge until a few weeks ago. It doesn't bite. It's just a swarmy bother. Best of luck with attracting the dragonflies to your pond. I've heard they like sticks to perch on.

The midges in Scotland bite and can be pretty bad. Maybe yours are a different species as some names get re-used.

Nice phone camera

I miss riding my roadie. Living out in the countryside has a whole lot of benefits, but the roads out here a bit wild and not for skinny tires. Have fun!

We're starting the week with this wonderful recognition. I can only say that I'm incredibly grateful for such a special award. What's the best way to browse short content and discover the few interesting bits? Not really into game reports and such stuff.

To follow just a few people and unfollow the game reporters. E.g. I try to snap only interesting stuff.

Then you stick to the very same few people :) I'd like to explore new ones.

Did you try the "affinity" tab on the peakd feed page?

Not yet, will give it a shot. Thanks!

I’m quite happy with my level of engagement today. 😁 Replied, interacted, and spent some good time with fellow Hivers. 🐝 Anyway, time to call it a day... see you tomorrow, Snaps folks! Excited to post more Snaps soon!

Nice... another HiveGrove watering mission completed! 🌱💧

We live in a time where a lot of behaviour gets excused with “that's just how people are or that is just the way I am” but what happens when someone is consistently selfish, turns every conversation back to themselves, and rarely considers how their actions affect others?

Do you confront them, set boundaries, distance yourself, or simply accept that that's who they are? And at what point does understanding someone's personality become an excuse for tolerating behaviour that drains you?

We all have personal agency. That does mean being responsible for our own behavior. So if someone is toxic or a stressful person to be around and all intervention discussions have fallen on deaf ears, then it is up to us to set the boundaries of what we will and will not tolerate. Then we have to hold the line. In the extreme cases we may need to distance ourselves from that person or group. Our own wellbeing and peace are surely worth protecting.

Very true. Our peace of mind comes first
But I think the difficult part is actually holding those boundaries when the person is someone we care about. Do you think distancing oneself is sometimes the healthiest form of boundary,or should there always be room for another chance?

Here are some coping strategies I have found helpful: Silence can be the better response. Not feeding more emotion into a charged situation. If possible step away. Not to cause a scene. Subtly. Go outside or do some chores to add productivity in it's place. Do what's best for you

Thank you. These are quite some very useful tips

I think setting boundaries is important... understanding someone doesn’t mean tolerating everything.

Exactly!!! Understanding someone's reasons can help us respond better, but it doesn't mean we have to keep accepting the behaviour. Where do you think the line should be between being patient with someone and protecting your own peace?

I think the line is crossed when being patient starts consistently costing you your own peace. Understanding is important... but boundaries matter too.

Absolutely 💯
I feel what you said

slap em & say this is how I'm

GIF

Slap?? 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Funny man

Yep. What else can you come up with?

😂😂 OMG... Violence for violence

😂😂
Big one

I first shock and had to read again

Same here. But it's something some can do and say "that is who I'm"😂🤣

Yeh. I'm not gandhi fan 🤣

If it was the previous me, there might be no confrontation but as it is, people needs to be shown who they are should in case they are unaware of the damage they cause to others with their acts. So I will confront but not in a way that I get to become like he or she...

I like how u put this cos sometimes people genuinely don't realize how their behaviour affects others, so speaking up can give them a chance to reflect. Do you think people usually change when they're confronted, or only when they personally see a reason to change

Most people don't see confrontations the way you want them to see it. They feel like they are challenged and been instigated to fight rather than understanding it to be a point of reflection. A few people see it as means to change

You know some have low IQ and they will always want to defend themselves at any chance rather than seeing it as a way to improve and also the way we confront someone matters almost as much as what we're confronting them about

Do you think people respond better when they feel understood before they're corrected?

After then, it's left for me to set boundaries even if I have to accept them for who they are after seeing they have no intention to change or adjust.

No one is created to be bad. We only emulate whatever we feel is right for us to do so it's actually not impossible to adjust..

.. when you are been challenged or confronted for doing something bad.

If I give you chances of adjusting in your bad acts but with no positive outcome and still the old normal you, that's my point of acceptance to distance myself, knowing you for who you are.

This here...cos accepting someone for who they are doesn't necessarily mean giving them unlimited access to you. If people learn behaviour from what they see around them, do you think changing their environment can sometimes make it easier for them to change too?

Environmental factor has a lot to do with people's behaviour so I'll say yes change is constant if they change their environment

Gbam!!! environment can reinforce a behaviour just as much as it can discourage it. But I also feeel changing the environment isnt enough if someone keeps carrying the same mindset with them. Do you think the person has to consciously choose to change too?

Have you found it difficult to change someone before no matter how you tried?

I may not accept that's how they are but I'll set boundaries which might look like I've accepted that they are like that. I just don't think every person is subject to change.

I like this💯 setting boundaries doesn't necessarily mean accepting the behaviour; sometimes it simply means accepting that you can't control whether the person changes

Yeah, it's best to not be constantly in closeness with what will drain you, you'll eventually break.

But knowing someone to be very capable of doing something you don't like and still letting them have the opportunity to do it, it means setting your boundaries is how you don't get drained.

Exactly.....boundaries are really about controlling your own access and response, not controlling the other person's behaviour. If you already know what drains you, protecting yourself becomes your responsibility

Yeah, because you can't control another. You can only try to control what you let in.

Even though people can change, I don't think it's ones duty to change another. Just set boundaries to what you hold dear, your peace and hope for the best for them.

Absolutely cos you can care about someone's growth without making their growth your responsibility. Sometimes the healthiest thing is to protect your peace, leave the choice to them, and hope they eventually choose better

Letting them might even be the wake up call they need to beginning their transformation journey.

I finally move out for a place which wasn't nice and time to make our house like home again.

Many boxes 😅

Wow, enjoy the new house.

Thank you.

Another HiveGrove achievement... those trees are getting plenty of attention! 🌱😁

I'm surprised how some people could remember a lot of what happened during their childhood, I struggle to remember few really. Well, that's by the way. A thought came to me wondering if my younger self ever imagined my older self as I am today.

So the question to you now is, If your younger self could see your life today, what would surprise them most?

Probably how different my priorities became... younger me might be quite surprised! 😅

Haha what's a top priority your younger self will be most surprised about?

Probably how much I prioritize stability nowadays... younger me might find that surprising. 😅

Haha I think it's beautiful surprise.. 😅

Haha yeah... sometimes unexpected surprises are the best ones. 😁

Probably your younger self would prioritize food over money 😄

Hahaha, that actually sounds very possible! Food has always been important. 😂

Omohhh e go shock o. My younger self will be shock cos all she ever dreamed of and shouted was to become a doctor

🤣🤣🤣
Doctor Kenny!
It's still a possibility, tell your younger self to relax, you're just passing a longer route. 😂

😂 which longer route abi wrong way entirely

It can't be, nothing is impossible. Even the wrong way can bring you to the right destination. 😂

Maybe you will be my first patient when I'm done 😀

I'm Merit, not patience. 🏃‍♀️

Although our fantasies as young children are mostly different from teenage or adult realities, when life shows us what to flow with

Yeah, I think with more knowledge comes the changes of what we fantasize about.

Yeahh that's it. The more we grow, the more the realization

And it keeps getting deeper.

What changed your priority now

And you're not even alone about remembering all that happened during childhood. My twin sister is always my memory card retriever

🤣 Same here, my sister remembers even what I did before she was born. I just don't get it. 😂

😂 why are you shocking me? Probably she heard the story too sha

Lol yeah, she sure did.
Just trying to exaggerate how accurately she can be with what happened years ago.

Lol that's so funny of her

Lol I guess so.

My younger self used to be this playful type, always asking questions but now, I feel I'm the opposite it that

Haha how opposite? You stopped asking question or stopped being playful?

Both. The way I ask question has reduced cos then, I'm always curious

Lol you must have learned a lot in doing that.

I guess my younger self will also be surprised about a lot of things that I can't even think about now

I know right?! There are a lot of them. Maybe we can start from one of your childhood dream and how it played out later.

Yeah, this. I always wanted to become a footballer cos I'm good at it, as times goes on, it changed into becoming a mechanical engineer but that also changed

Haha I think it's safe to say there were more boys who wanted to be footballers growing up. 😅
Did you stop wishing to be any of them or you found something better you love?

With age and maturity over time and moving from one class to the other, I found something I love

That is a beautiful story. 😊
Glad it's something you love.

I'm saving this snap/question with this reply so I can answer it properly really soon. This deserves a vlog :) stay tuned!

That fluffy black cat looks like a nice random encounter! 😁

It was laying there and it was watching the people who passed by. At some point we approached it with my sister's dog and the cat was focusing only on the dog. I didn't have the opportunity to pet it because it didn't respond to me.

Haha, sounds like the dog completely stole the cat’s attention! 😅🐱

But the dog didn't see the cat at all 🤷🏽‍♀️

Haha the cat got lucky then! 😂 Maybe the dog was too distracted.

Hector (the dog) was watching other dogs and usually he doesn't look above his height.
