Happy Thursday π and a very warm welcome to my world π. I have had an awesome day and as always I am happy and really grateful for itπ―. Thank you for stopping by and let's quickly take a look at how my day went and also what's trending in the media streets. Here we go again π¨.
So today I had a nice morning session with a couple rounds of brisk walking π£ around the neighborhood π².It was cloudy but that fresh morning breezeπmade it quite enjoyable. Then I was back indoors for a little bit of resting before embarking on the usual house chores. In between I did keep updated on the trending news and also entertained myself with some good music. Later in the afternoon, I was out to the shopping centre for some groceries . Then I got back home and went into my usual refreshing napπ€. A little later in the early evening, I was up cooking and preparing for the slow paced sunset walk. Next, let's quickly look at what has been trending in the world.
Locally, the usual political shenanigansπΉ kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
On the continent, Sudan's head of the army, Burhan, visited Doha Qatar for talks with Emir Sheikh Tamim Al Thani. General Burhan has issued a decree to dissolve the RSF paramilitary group. Sudan has been going through a war in the past five months. Hopefully peace and stability can be restored there soonπ―.
Globally, Ukraine trending as Russia says decision by US to send depleted uranium ammunition to Ukraine is a criminal actπΉ. Someone needs to remind Putin that invading a sovereign country is a criminal actπ‘. Ukraine wouldn't need to look to all these weapons if Russia simply went home.
France also trending as the highest court upheld the abaya ban in schoolsπ. It said the ruling of the lower court was legal and that the abaya ban was not discriminatory. WhateverπΉ.
In the UK, a huge manhunt is ongoing for a prisoner who escaped a London jail after strapping himself to the bottom of a food delivery truckπ. The former soldier on terrorism charges is still at large but hopefully he gets caught. What a clever escape tacticπΉ.
Let's go to Asia where the ASEAN summit came to an end in Jarkata, Indonesia. Mostly discussing trade and national security between member states.
Across the pond, El Salvador trending as they celebrated the second anniversary of bitcoin being adopted as legal tender. The impact still yet to be felt but soon coming. A pro bitcoin presidential candidate in Argentina may see further adoption in a larger country. Time will tell but we all know bitcoin is perfect moneyπ―.
Finally in crazy weather, rescue efforts underway in affected villages in Greece. More rain fell in 24 hours than they see in a whole yearπ. Leading to devastating floods and widespread destruction. Am sure everything will be okπ―.
