📚 Book Review ~ If I’m Honest - A lonely struggle hidden behind fame

in Hive Book Club • 3 months ago

Hello friends, I hope you are well. Today I have brought you an autobiographical book, but it is a little different, where autobiographical books are usually filled with success stories or inspirational messages. But this book is a book that stands out from that genre. It is not a story of glamour or achievement, but a brutal confession of mental breakdown, loneliness and a silent war with oneself.

This book is about how a person can completely break down from within despite being the son of a well-known industrialist family. This brave honesty of the author makes the book stand out.

  Book Summary

The book highlights a time in the author’s life when outwardly he lacked nothing in his life: name, recognition, money, opportunities. But behind that glitter, he was suffering from deep depression, anxiety and a crisis of self-identity. He talks about how social media and people's expectations have increased his stress. How failure made him look small in his own eyes. How he became his own harshest critic. The book slowly progresses on the path of self-acceptance, therapy, and self-understanding. There are no dramatic turns here, but each chapter is as deep and true as real life.

  My Review

The thing that struck me the most while reading this book was the author's brave honesty. He did not present himself as great or perfect, but rather admitted his weaknesses like an ordinary person.

This book reminds us that fame or money is not a guarantee of mental peace. Sometimes the biggest fight is within oneself. This book may seem very close to those who are going through stress, depression, or self-doubt. The language is simple, fluent, and touching, so reading the book does not tire you.

However, for those looking for shocking events, the book may seem a little different. But it teaches us that weakness is not something to hide, but to admit it is the greatest strength. And that was the explanation of the book. I hope you like it. If you have read the book before or not, please comment and let me know how you felt after hearing the explanation of the book.

Thanks you so much for reading. See you next :)
