Would you employ this man as a tutor for your teenage son/ daughter?

I'm spending the back end of this week updating all of my various online profiles, of which there are many.

Obviously the photos are key to this. I'm planning on taking a few different ones with a few different backgrounds, maybe even getting a professional shoot done, but I'm actually quite pleased with this as a starting point:

The plan is to leverage my website to kick start some online revision from April 2019, so my question to you is this:

is this a suitable profile picture for a sociology tutor>?

Note 1: having posted it up I'm aware I need better lighting! It's actually on my to do list... buying a 100 watt light bulb.

  • Yes - it's a suitable profile for a sociology tutor

  • No - it's not a suitable profile for a sociology tutor

Actually, the beards look quite scary but I think getting to know you and what you have to offer will change this perception.

Is there an older photo? 😜

You can always use photoshop 😉 hahaha

Just kidding, never judge a book by its cover, right?

Yes, but I'm also not looking for a "standard" education for my child. I want her to learn from someone that is going to be open minded and willing to challenge her to think outside of the modern day cliches.

I don't know that you're going to get any "no" responses since those that would vote no are likely not going to take the 30 seconds to click the links.

Great response..... precisely the kind of parent/ teenager combination I want to employ me!

And I'm really only after confirmation bias so that's fine!

If you're still teaching in 10 years we should talk. Currently my daughter is only 5. At this age it seems the best I can do impart broad values. Dad reads all the time. Dad writes daily. Dad listens to all types of people. Dad loves math. I've got my fingers crossed that these are going to stick, but you can't tell until she starts her own journey.

.

Thanks... it just came out the box and found it's place.

I haven't actually read it!

Absolutely!

Knowledge being directly proportional to quality and size of beard!

I had to get the beard in. Also the books have been cunningly placed. Every other shelf is full of boxes and junk!

Yes the books too! 😁

It's a scary looking beard but you aren't trying to look like a bank manager, are you. (I think we should be more afraid of bank managers than sociologists, though.)

Scary, na, teenagers will love that shit!

Well, I think any sociology teacher should be daring to have a different opinion and therefore maybe also dare to choose a different appearence that the absoluut standard standard...

helll yeahhhhh

That was the general idea! Cheers!
