Do you recall how we ripped out the laundry to make one big room, and then took out the external door and window to create a cupboard that contained the washing machine? Finalllllly yesterday the double glazed window arrived for the space, replacing the window we were using temporarily. I love it. It lets in lots of winter light and there's a view of the trees. It's dramatic and large and beautiful.
My Dad always said there should be a view of the garden or nature from every room. We're trying. We are yet to do the kitchen window (it feels dark in there) which will complete the look, but at least we have this one. The surround is yet to be done here. As I write this at work, Jamie's gone home early and might have got it done so I'll update it if so.
Now it's winter and the northern sun is lower in the sky the light streams through all over the kitchen. Just so warming and yellow and gorgeous.
Only problem with that of course is that one does need to clean the window properly. Dammit.
Look at the lovely glow of that winter sun a'risin'. The house next door is a nice house as far as houses go and it's not bad to look at, but you only see it from a certain angle and most of the time you only look out to the trees, the stars, the clouds, cockatoos.
Meanwhile
I've been sitting here on and off trying to create a Hive Account to a community I'd like to start. No go. If I can't do it easily, imagine how hard it is for other that aren't that Hive savvy! What the actual.
Anyway the sun is shining on me and the washing so I suppose it can't be so bad.
I'll keep you posted about it anyway. I do like giving back to Hive where I can.

The moon is often visible from my window, which I find just amazing. Who needs a view of the sea when the sky can be more fascinating? Did you know the pink moon is the big easter moon?

STOPThat's a fine looking window, lady. I'm loving the thick wood panels on the sides. Also, I thought for a sec it was a desk next to it and it looked like an uber peaceful creative space. Not that it looks any less peaceful or cool now. I love the close-up shot of the wood (oo-er).

I was thinking it could be used for a desk but we didn't do overhang and it's a tad high. Besides we tend to do marking/desk work at the kitchen island/bar thingie. It's used now for:
a) sorting laundry
b) putting the 'things we can't forget tomorrow' stuff on eg lunches, books
c) sorting shopping
Who doesn't? Know what I mean, know what I mean? Nudge nudge, wink wink?
THis is actually a great idea. I tend to leave stuff randomly and hope I remember the stuff that can't be forgotten is under the table in the living room where I won't be passing anyway :)) much cleverer your way.
Ha yes. It used to be a basket by the door (I highly recommend this if you need a solution ... Everything I needed to take, as I passed it, would be chucked there) but not enough room in that area in this new space. We are a big, big, big fan of SYSTEMS. In fact maybe I should write about it in the minimalist community...
That is perfect! It really lights the place up and gives you a nice look out. You all did a beautiful job with it. Good luck with the Hive account. Seems things on Hive are becoming a little more clunky lately.

It is a mood booster. What I am seeing in the photos gave me some good feelings and you are enjoying it being physically there, it must be great. Other than getting the satisfaction of a task being completed, a target being achieved.

Thanks so much @thekittygirl - I managed to do it. I don't know why I didnt find that option on Peakd to start with. It didn't work well on ecency, and the hiveonboard website was down, and it didn't work well on hive leo either - ffs! It'd been so long since I've done it! I'm creating a new community called Ocean Lovers - follow the @oceanlovers account as I'll update on the weekend but I also created the community too - glutton for punishment, me. But I've seen the need for an inclusive salty community for ages, and it's another way to give back to Hive. Thanks again x
