Optimism - A Necessity For Success

in GEMS6 years ago

When presented with a "not-so-full" glass of water, do you see it as half-full or half-empty? In the midst of the darkest night, you can still hope for the best - it is only a matter of choice and perspective. Many people believe that there is light at the end of every tunnel but with the right optimism, the light can still meet you inside the tunnel.

A point may come in your journey to success that everything will seem to be moving in reverse and all odds will seem to be against you, that is the time you need to keep your hopes alive. Optimism is simply "hoping against hope". As long as your hope is not affected, you can still deliver on your target because your hope will provide the required energy to keep you moving irrespective of the tides.

You may not be able to dictate when the winds will come and you may not be able to stop the tide but you can still direct your sail to keep moving. An optimist does not see failure as the final result but they see it as a springboard to soar higher. Many of the successful people you know today still have failures as part of their success story.

Anytime you failed to hit your target at the first attempt, just see it as a minor setback that you will use to set a better pace for a more outstanding comeback. Someone is not a failure because of a failed attempt but if they decide not to try again.

I remember the story that was told of Thomas Edison in the course of his invention. He failed repeatedly but he still had hopes of succeeding and that made him to keep trying. At last, after so many trials, his success came. This is to prove to you that if you won't quit, failure will get weary of you. People that are determined to succeed do not see failures, they do not also take "no" for answer but they have just one target: success or success. That means, failure is totally ruled off the equation.

Any opportunity that comes to you, cease it to try something new. When your attempts are much, you have greater chance of hitting the mark but if you try sparingly, then you are just blurring off your chances of hitting your mark. Whatever happens, do not stop trying.
