He decided he wanted to be a tree! True story.

Liam is his name.

Unfortunately this is a true story. Liam was a very quiet child, I watched him grow up. Many a xmas I turned up with presents. Remote control toys, cards and a smile.

Liam was always the one that was what we call stand offish. He preferred to sit alone in his room playing games consoles, rather than come and see family that came to see him. If it was not a games console, it was him playing football alone in the garden.

Liam came and went from home like a ghost, always sulking, always something on his young mind. Then young Liam went to college, and came back a literal mess!.

It seems the flashy light box up the corner of the room, had convinced him, and not only him but more all of his friends. That 1 day they could be peter, and the next day they could be Pauline, should they choose.

It turns out the experience of having sex with everyone he met of any sexual persuasion ruined young Liam's mind. With no self respect left, he decided he was going to be a "tree".......................

Liam's return.

He came back from college and landed at my sisters house, that's right he is my nephew you see. She had bought a house in the country with a granny flat if you like. Another house in her garden that was supposed to be for my mother should she need it.

Now not only Liam but his sister also live in that spare property. Stamping their feet daily that it is not good enough, not nice enough, that nasty workmen have not been to fix things they do not like, at my sisters expense.

This is generation y it seems. Those born late 1990's and early 2000's, the most entitled breed of all breeds gone by.

His sister who I shall not bother to name also went to college, she lasted 1 week before running back home, it seems people not washing up or cleaning the kitchen for her put her off higher education for life. So there they sit in that small garden house, connected to my sisters large country house.

I have heard tales of Liam's friends thinking they can decide daily what or who they want to be, he has had friends that were white Christians that decided to be a Muslim from Africa for a week or three.

I kept saying it for years you see, stop spoiling them, toughen them up, make them earn what they get. It fell on deaf ears though with my sister as her husband left. A broken home is no place to be in, to grow up in. And it was one that could have been avoided, should my sister have been more flexible.

She asked him to leave, she wanted the split, the children never forgave her it seems. I am blaming nobody for this mess, I am pointing a large finger though at that flashy light box up the corner called a TV though. It has led the way to normalizing all I have said above and much much worse.

When Jerry Springer and freaks like him are ruining day time TV, and breakfast shows are telling people they can be a tree, like they are. Then you can expect some people to become that tree, Liam has!..............

Verdict = Just a typical life story in the 2000's it seems!

Sort:

So sad to see peaple get cought up in this crap.

It seems it is normal now to be bisexual and confused.
I think him and his sister will never leave home, they prefer to hate on mom and get everything done for them, sad but true.

That is not a life :(

It is, just a miserable one.

Welcome to Steem? lol only been here 11 months.

This sounds all to familiar...

Doesn't it just, although it is not like that here in the east, well not quite yet.

Having gone to a large university a few years later in life than others, I can absolutely see this. The 18 year olds I saw were disillusioned to think of the world a certain way. It’s sad but it’s the scripted thought that like you said comes in the color box on the wall.

Yes it is indeed scripted, by sordid minds that want to control whilst everyone else is their freak show.
I am going to phone young Liam later today and see if I can motivate him to at least get some work, and look after himself, as his mothers boyfriend will not say it "as he feels it is not his place to do so"
Sad but true.

Welcome, though I am not clicking that link.
