First Day Out - Begining on sweeter note!

New location alwsys comes up with new challenges. Hold on ! This is not a repeat post like the ones I posted before. But this one is from the first day at my new place. After doing some hectic round about of the new place I found a place for my new addres and today, having an auspicious day, shifted to my new address. In case you are wondering, How it began, then it was just like this spoon of rice pudding.

This is a popular Indian, home made sweet dish made up of milk and rice mixed with either sugar or jaggery. This one is purely made up of jaggery as you might have noticed from the color of the recipe. Indian were very particular to began anything néw on a sweeter note and this dessert item is a symbol of it. Today is also an auspicious as per the Vedic Hindu calendar. So stepping ahead for something new always ask for some sweeter memory and I began it with this sweet dish, made exclusively at my new home, in the new kitchen. There is an age old tradition of making rice pudding which is associated with positivity, prosperity and peace. So a spoon full of rice pudding at new place is all about bringing good luck.

I made the begining on a limited note. Not much luxury item, not much cookware and no stove. This dessert is made on an induction top and comes out very nicely. It was a hectic day over all and as I am drafting it lying on the floor, I was feeling like getting lost in the dream. I covered more than 100km on two wheeler, on a humid day, followed by a chilled can of bear and some local street snacks. Just for the rituals I ended the day on rice pudding. Apart from cooking, I am yet to unpack my stuffs. It was long day with tiring legs and body. But now, hopefully the night won't fall short for a complete rest.
