Which word scares you more?
We live in an interesting time. Information is more readily available and more freely shared today than any of period of time in history. Our political landscapes are being revolutionized by the internet and social media. You no longer have to be a news anchor share your comments and opinions. The issues are being lived out before out very eyes.
In the US, we have a two party system that is deeply divided. We have two political movements that are moving in the opposite directions.
According to Google, liberal means ...
open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values.
According to Google, conservative means ...
holding to traditional attitudes and values and cautious about change or innovation, typically in relation to politics or religion.
So in light of what often feels like complete chaos, "Which word scares you more?"
- Conservative
- Liberal
- Neither. Words aren't scary. People are.

I'll get to the poll in a minute, but just to answer the question here too: neither, words are not scary, people are.
However, words can do more than most of us think...It's hard to take back a spoken word. Of course, this depends on what is said. If you would say you hate someone, I believe it has less meaning because we hear it all the time around us: "Oh, I hate this and this." When it rarely actually means hate...
However, there are certain things you can't take back once spoken.
I'd give a few examples, but people all have their own words they consider 'bad'.
Back to the words liberal and conservative. The words in itself aren't bad, however, the people who stand behind those words and not living their lives the way it's supposed to be, that is scary. There's nothing wrong with being a little bit conservative in certain things, and there's absolutely nothing wrong with being liberal with others. I am from the Netherlands, a country often called very liberal. However, nothing could be farther from the truth...
Thanks for such a thought filled comment. I completely agree with you that words can not be taken back once spoken. Words like "love" and "hate" are used for such a variety fo reasons, it is hard to tell their true meaning anymore.
I also agree that you can be liberal in some ways and conservative in others. I don't think you have to choose just one or the other.

Conservatives are crazy gun-totting white supremicts.
Liberals are snowflake sjw who seek to cancel everyone.
That's what both sides paint the other as being, all the time. But I've met people from both sides and, while some do fit close to those labels, others have been... just people. Normal, good, honest, people.
There sure is a lot of name-calling going on these days. I appreciate your statement that most of the people you have met, regardless of your political affiliation, are just normal people. I agree that there are extremes, but a lot of people do indeed fall in the middle.

I do not even think of these words and pass over them.
That is an interesting point. For many of us, we have a hard time connecting with the extremes of either side, so we stop listening to the voices of the extreme and their name-calling of the other side.
Well, I never watch tv or see any news, so this rarely comes up. I think most of the people yelling about all the "things" are paid to do so. Regular people don't talk like that or care about most of what is being talked about.
