After hours drinks are always a stress reliever, especially on those days your boss doesn't like the outcome of your project, or your team member is constantly free riding, or you simply are not having the best day. Releasing your work steam with a colleague or your friends are a dire must in this dog eat dog world where competition never ceases to exist at work, and so a small hideaway place is needed for times like these.
Tucked away in the busy streets of Gangnam (the infamous song by PSY actually exists as a region in Seoul Korea), a restaurant/bar called Monday Blues awaits to take the weight off your shoulder.
As you walk in, the dim lights and jazzy music playing in the background alleviates the stress vein pumping behind your neck, as you are greeted by the Maitre D'. He escorts you to the bar, as most of the seats are already filled by people akin to you.

Walking in, you take a glimpse of the wines, spirits, and whiskey lined up, calculating how much you should spend the night away on. Today being only Tuesday, you decide to fall back on your wine as a hangover too early on in the week only tires you out the rest of the week.

We're seated in front of the bar, the tables are rather small, but we're not fussy with the decorated bar shelves in front to become the background in our photos. Plus, the bar seat never disappoints, as you've got the bartender's quick hands ready to serve any of the beer flowing on the taps, or to fix up a citrus cocktail per your wish. But today we're taking things light, so we ask for a house recommendation of a bottle of wine.

My all time favorite type of white wine, the New Zealand's Malborough Sauvignon Blanc is the staple to any fish, fruit, nut, Thai cuisine, salads, you name it. It pairs so beautifully well that whatever the combination you conjure up, the Malborough Sauvignon Blanc seeps right in, swirling that fresh citrusy, flowery scent into your mouth. Today's choice of brand is Matua, which I personally think has a higher citrus taste that the other brands, Kim Crawford, or Cloudy Bay.

Pairing with a parma ham salad, we ask for a Riedel wine glass as we pour in the wine to pair with. Light and fresh, the dinner starts off slow and easy. The work day blues are washed away as you take your sip of wine.

More of your ordered dishes fill up your table space. Gambas al ajillo, and a plate of rose pasta is served. We stick to our white wine and enjoy the rest of the night.

A cozy place, just enough for a night out in the middle of your week.
