A double dose of Belgium in #BeerSaturday 333

in BEER7 months ago (edited)

Hello Hello Beer Lovers. threaders and Hivians!

Today is going to be a double dose of Belgium in this post for #beer Saturday!

Today before we proceed I am letting you know that this is a Beer post to celebrate The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 333!

First things first, I mentioned a double dose of Belgium and the first dose came courtesy of Mrs T. Click the banner to listen to the latest episode of our podcast or listen to it here

Basically in it she regales us with the fact that French fries were actually invented in Belgium, amongst the french speakers who were interacting with American soldiers in the war. Hence the name French, from the language not the country!

You learn something new everyday!

I hope you fancy a thirst quencher?
Today is Saturday, and that means it is time to share a cheeky beer with you.

Yes as you guessed it, this is going to be the second dose of Belgium.

Have you guessed the beer yet?

So, this is my post for #beersaturday coming from our local all you can eat buffet Pommy's in Kirkcaldy Scotland.

Yes the beer in question is Stella Artois.

Meanwhile we have some food and drink to consume!

Some fries or as we say chips on the plate there with the Stella Artois.

That ser is the double dose of Belgium referred to previously!

Actually there was loads of food, are you like me when you going to eat you try to eat what you tend not to eat at home?

Mussels in garlic butter I could eat until the cows come home!

What does wikipedia say

Stella Artois is a pilsner beer, first brewed in 1926 by Brouwerij Artois in Leuven, Belgium. In its original form, the beer is 5.2 per cent ABV, the country's standard for pilsners..

This deserts are too sweet, are you not afraid if getting fat😁

hehe that was a once in goodness knows how long since I eat desserts like that!

We always have to be happy @beckyroyal don't you think?

Yes we do.... happiness is what makes living bearable

I love Stella, but it does some weird stuff to my stomach for some reason.

I must I had not had a Stella for a long time, and it tasted mighty fine! Weird about your stomach though

I guess you could do way better than ending up with Stella Artois in Belgium ;) Give a shot to any of the renowned Trappist beers if you're still around, they are definitely wort sampling ;)

I don't fancy the beer but the foods on the table! Nope not the desserts.

I will make a proper post as there was sooooo much food!

I'm coming to get the Chips from you, I think I need it more than you do. Hehe

Hehe open wide and I shall feed you! You are more than welcome, so come and get them Amie!

That looks perfect and I love to enjoy more Belgium stuff

Have a !BEER from me

Danke Detlev they do make decent the Belgians!
