On goals…

And yet another boring day at work.

And it's not that I'm dissatisfied with what I do at work, rather it's that I've stopped feeling like the work I do was mine...
At almost 48 years old, and I know very well that I am a person who moves by objectives and if the objectives do not excite me, I lose motivation in a well-paid job, but objectives that are not aligned with me is not what makes me happiest .
I have realized that I need to have personal, day-to-day goals, simple or complex, long or short, I don't care but I need to have something to be motivated by.

The project I'm working on is so long that it's difficult to stay motivated every day, however, I suffer from an excessive workload that makes me not focus on the goals that excite me, the personal ones.
I have had to stop training regularly, as I have been doing for the last 15 years, although I still train two days a week. In any case, I maintain a high daily activity goal, which leads me to take walks with the dog for more than half an hour, even reaching two hours a day, but always in the late afternoon.
I still depend a lot on my monthly salary, I would say that I am not very far from financial sovereignty, but I still need to provide security for my family, since I have two children of study age. That is why I am still a slave to this monthly payroll, although I am accumulating objectives that I want to achieve, I know that many of them I will not be able to execute, but the main ones will.
Having goals gives meaning to life, do not forget about this.

Hang in there Eddie...Independence isn't so far away

Sometimes we need to step away to see the progress we've made. And then to reset our goals and get excited about them (again).

I hear all of your frustrations (as I feel them too!).

We are not alone! 😅

I hear you. I am younger than you but I do not want to be working for monthly payroll when I am 50 or 55. I like to work but the notion of working for someone else is not easy to digest. And, I do not see myself motivated enough to work as a director with more responsibility.

Agree, my point is that I already reached an outstanding position in my work and I don’t need more responsibilities, I prefer to develop others

It makes perfect sense.

Yay! 🤗
