Sometimes our feathered friends simply show no respect for the dead... Here is such an example.
This is a memorial to the late Jožo Urban (Jozef Urban), who died near the town of Zvolen in 24th April of 1999. He was a writer, a poet and lyricist and although I have never heard of him before, he seems to have left quite a mark in Slovak's culture, participating in various artists albums by writing (or helping out with) the lyrics.
This memorial was placed in the gardens just outside the Castle of Zvolen and, sadly, these pigeons didn't care about him at all. They were all over the plaque as if it was nothing to be ashamed of. 🙄
Here we see a pigeon sleeping and another standing over the memorial... but that wasn't enough for him.
Nope, standing over it wasn't enough, he has to step over the dedication that was written to the poet's memory.
He simply walked over it without any complex.
I know that birds will be birds... but hey, they should at least show some respect for the dead. No? 🤔
On an unrelated note... I have a lot of trouble reading Russian cursive. I can make out some of the words in that text but most of it is gibberish to me. If someone can write it down for me, I'd appreciate it.
I hope you enjoyed these photos... which have been resized to 60% of their original size (or else the only Hive frontend that could display it is Ecency. Sadly, Hive.Blog and PeakD can't deal with images over 6 MB or 7 MB.)

I'm getting a lot more trouble lately. Photos up to 9 MB used to work. Today a photo with just 5 MB wasn't visible on PeakD. What the heck is going on? 🤔
I have been pointing out that it's a peakd problem and if they want to see the images in my post they can see them at ecency.com
I have no idea what is going on with them, but resizing my pictures feels like taking a step backward! Plus I don't know how to resize them even if I wanted to! 😁
