"Were you forcibly evicted from your home?"
Yes. Last November. I talked to one of my former neighbors today, and four of the tenants there have been diagnosed with cancer since I left, two of them with brain cancer. He said I left just in time. I hope he is right. Sometimes the worst things that happen to us are blessings in disguise.
While I am actually not in financial difficulty that is because I base my economic wealth on goodwill, rather than financial assets. While I was earning goodwill today repairing a fence I was working with a man that aided me greatly rescuing my possessions during that eviction. Then another man that aided me greatly during that eviction happened to be driving by, and he kindly brought me a delicious beverage, which I greatly appreciated. Goodwill has far greater benefits than mere money IME.
However, the tractor was pounding the steel fence posts into the ground, and I was positioning them for the tractor driver. About halfway through the repair, one of the steel posts struck a rock, bent, and shot the ~1 1/2 meter steel tube that it was in at me with great force. I saw it out of the corner of my eye while I was moving away from the heavy equipment and managed to block it, preventing it from striking me with full force. Even so, my wrist hurts a lot, and I am concerned that I have sustained skeletal damage, since it hurts more and more as time goes on. I was only able to work on four other jobs after finishing the fence repair, and may have to take a couple days to heal, or worse, go have it examined by a doctor to see if one of the bones in my wrist is broken.
Fortunately, I didn't get hurt worse, which I would have been had I not deflected the steel tube, and I have DMSO and four bottles of whiskey, which should mitigate the pain for at least a day or two.
Despite my terrible flaws, the universe has been very kind to me today, and I am very grateful for your concern, and my good fortune.
Thanks!
