Cycling trip 🚴 to Lalikoto Area - In search of Urumovo Tulip 🌷

in #travelfeed5 years ago (edited)

This weekend with friends we had a long bike trip from Burgas to the village Terziysko. We want to visit area Lalikoto, where it blooms Urumus tulip.

Urumus tulip grows only in Bulgaria between April and May. That's why we have undertaken this bike trip- a great inspiration for cycling and to see these beautiful flowers.

With @outlinez and other five friends we took our bikes and left early in the morning.

We passed through the villages Ravnets and Troyanovo.

We continued in the village of Asparuhovo and the abandoned Orthodox church built in 1884.

We passed through the village Ognen and the village Iskra.

After a long ascent, we arrived at Terziysko.

In the village of Terzijsko in the center, there is a post office, a fountain with washing troughs, which serve for washing clothes.

We arrived at the house we were going to sleep in. Unfortunately, it was too late to make a transition to find the tulips, so we put it down for the morning:

As soon as we woke up, we went to the area:

Soon we had an incredible view:

At first, we found only one tulip:

While looking for tulips we found many beautiful flowers and plants such as:

Irises:

A small lizard appeared from the grass.

There were many lilacs:

A turtle had been hiding around.

Soon, the tulips began to appear.

We reached the southern slope from which a magnificent view was revealed and we found many of the tulips:

We've found more irises:

Soon we went back because we had to cycle back to Burgas.

We gathered the luggage and left.

5-384.jpg

We stopped in the village Iskra.

I am happy that we made this trip and that we were able to see this beautiful tulips.

170 km with our cross country bikes - it was not very easy, but it was worth it!

I may be wrong but that looks more like a tortoise than a turtle. 170 kilometers is a fair distance and it looks like you guys were organised having a place to stay. The flowers are stunning and well worth riding to find them.

A turtle in nature? I think it must have escaped its owner as I have never heard of turtles walking just like this in Europe :) But I might be wrong :)

170km on a bike is indeed a lot. I think I would give up after 50 max :) You're a die hard!

You again managed to take some cool photos from your trip :)

Thank you for sharing and congratulations on your curie vote!

170 km were not really little, but with such views and good company - I'm ready to go again :) Thank you @delishtreats 🙂

You had a nice ride, took amazing pictures, found turtle and lizard. I'm impressed. I would die on my bicycle on such a trip.

I'm glad you like our adventure and pictures! Thank you for reading and responding @anaerwu 🙂👍

What a ride. Not only long but picturesque.
So many peculiar things in those villages: the nest on top of the light post, the falling door # 19, the carrt pulled by horse, the water troughs, and of course the wild life and flowers.
That first photographs of the yellow belt on the horizon is just breath-taking. Flowers are intrinscally beautiful, but when they are arranged in bulks, when they are cropped together like here, they become quite a show.

Thanks for stopping by and your wonderful comment. Have a great day @hlezama 🙂

Beautiful photos of a beautiful area. Thanks for sharing with us.

Thank you very much @izzynoel 🙂

hi @vesytz
it is really a romantic thing that you went on a trip looking for tulips !! Do you love bike rides? Do you do it often? because to do all those miles you have to be trained !!
Nice photos, it was a bit like being with you
Congratulations and thank you for sharing with us

Hi @road2horizon! I'm glad you like my trip and photos 🙂
Cycling is one of my favorite things and that's why I often do it! Тhis year I had not yet made such a long trip, but because of the tulips I did. Thank you for your comment! Have a great day 🙂

Wow 170 km!
I am not really a cycling fan, I don't even cycle to my work which is within 15km range of my home :P
You have taken some really good photo's on your way @vesytz. Especially the first one looks amazing with blue, yellow and green coming together. Very nice! Thanks for sharing!

I'm glad you like my photos @lion200 🙂👍 Thank's for comment!

You're welcome! Thanks for sharing @vesytz!

Excellent presentation of a great trip. You have so many wonderful photos here, wonderful landscapes, beautiful flowers, not to mention the lizard and turtle. I've seen a lizard last year in the garden but that was very different, brown and green, not like yours. And a turtle roaming around free? You don't see those free in Romania, only at the zoo.
What is sad though, I saw so many abandoned and neglected building. I hope one day those buildings can get a second life. Well done @vesytz!
