Ciao Steemians!
To the surprise of many, South Korean director Bong Joon Ho's film literally tore the competition apart at the last Oscar ceremony. Some of the critics had something to say about this choice, but there will always be those who disagree.
The fact remains, however, that Parasite has won, with a loot of 4 Oscars including Best Director and Best Film of 2019. Some time ago a user recommended it to me right here on Steemit, as well as another work by the same director that I had already seen years ago and I really liked a lot, Snowpiercer, a pleasant surprise that I was very impressed especially for the strong society criticism and the difference between social classes.
That's why the good Bong doesn't deny himself and with this latest work of his he manages to bring out the best in himself. This film impressed me a lot, first of all it's not easy to follow only the subtitles while you don't understand anything about the audio department, with extreme ease the images involve you so much from the first minutes that everything else takes second place.

This film tells the story of a family of four people forced into poverty, who live in a basement, what seems to worry them the most are the comforts of modern technology, using the free WiFi connection of their neighbor is far more important to them than finding decent food or a decent job, which initially for the father is folding pizza boxes comfortably sitting on the floor. When the father risks being fired for doing his job badly, the daughter bribes her boss to change his mind.
After thinking that they have seen the worst, the same protagonists think about denying us again. The young son manages, thanks to a friend, to go to work with a rich family, giving private lessons to their daughter, seducing her and obtaining more advantages, but shortly before the young man fakes a diploma with great and astonishing pleasure of his father who almost idolizes him for this conquest.
From here will start the family "climb to success", the boy will manage to make his sister work for the same family, after which the latter with a diabolical ploy will manage to make the father the driver, as well as to make him become a real actor who studies from memory a part with the intent to replace his wife the current housekeeper who was in that huge and beautiful house for years.
All four are now in total possession of the situation, one night, while the owners are out of the house, they get drunk together with the aim of taking possession of the villa, but that night everything happens.
The former housekeeper will return to visit her former employers but in their place will find the family busy celebrating, the woman has forgotten something in the anti-nuclear bunker, or rather someone. Yes, because her husband, fallen into disgrace to save money, lives under the house all alone in a place now forgotten by the bosses.
Scenes of hysteria when the woman discovers the family's shady plans and blackmails them with her smartphone by filming them calling each other by their familiar names, all this will end in tragedy, the couple will be tied up and locked in the bunker while the bosses are on their way home due to an unforeseen event. The former housekeeper will die in a tragic accident and her husband will freak out trying to communicate via Morse code with a switch in "his" home that lights up the stairs of the house above.
Here a small personal note, we are offered the scene that he illuminates the stairs like an automatic light when they are trampled on, which is very unlikely, however an isolated event and quite irrelevant to the course of the story.
Two very important elements are also the tramp urinating in front of the family's basement, who gets angry and would like to make him pay for it but doesn't have the courage, with time they gain confidence and trust, coming to rebel against this man, while they feel overwhelmed by their work achievements.
The second fundamental element is the bad smell. They, who take advantage of the open windows of the house to exterminate cockroaches while in the streets of the city is undergoing a pest control, are bothered to be denigrated by the wealthy for this reason. This will be highlighted a few times until the rich master will show all his rejection by not even stopping in front of death, an event that will trigger the madness of the poor father who will stab his own boss and then sneak into the bunker himself and live in secret from the society that will hunt him down.
From down there he will try to communicate with his son with the bite code, the latter will try to answer and do everything to buy the house and free his father from the fugitive, these scenes seem real, in reality it's only imagination.
Great movie, I really liked it and it was a very pleasant surprise for me, it gives emotions, makes you think and manages to remain impressed. Bong hit the nail on the head, he managed to shock and attract with a simple and direct story, telling very dark sides of human nature and extreme where he could go, to the limits of reality.

This is a magnificent movie! Not only cinematographically but also in its message or content. Bong Joon-ho did an extraordinary work as a director. The film comes from winning several international awards and with the Oscar Award it will be more visible. It was a great pleasure to read you @dexpartacus
